I love the detail you put into your work. They really do look like little people! It's only upon major scrutiny (and spotting the wings or pointed ears) that I can see they're dolls.

test it and you'll see it works and it solves the darkening and most of the moonie problem. I only like the flex that puppen has, I don't care for the color at all.

Ok I will try though I have been considering giving up completely on not painting it. its just so hard to keep it nice especialy the very translucent which is what I like.
Puppen I mixed the white with just a touch of rose and liked it. The flesh tone is too shrimpy for me,but you can nuetralize it with a pea or purple or blue clay. Cernit I think has the most gorgeous skin tones right out of the package ,but unfortunalty I cant work with it.

I can't use cernit either I stretch and pull my clay too much and with cernit it makes moonies under the surface that look nasty. The baby prosculpt is a nice color but again it gets more moonies than the fairy light.

The only way I was able to use cernit was mixed alot with other clays or pushed into a mold. The way I sculpt is with lots of adding so seams are a big problem for me. fairylight is just too pasty for my liking. add enough white to any clay and you wont see moonies ,but then once the translucency is destroyed why use polymer? There are other clays to use that are opaque.

I have my husband mix the clays after I put them in a food processor. It is a pita. Ive been thinking of switching to molding my dolls in wax and molding them. Polymer is pretty but, its so much trouble.. especialy in the summer months.

I just hope ebay doesn't change too much. But you don't have to worry about that I really think you don't need ebay or esty your going to be in some great galleries! you are one of the best artist around.

you could do what Forest Rogers does and have a special line just for ebay. You still have collectors there that look for your work.

polymer can be a pain but I'm happy with it. I don't think I could work in wax. I torture the polymer enough LOL
my hot flashes make it nice for the clay my studio is like an ice box hahaha

I like so many aspects of it,but I guess I have a dirtier house than normal. The wax you have to use hot tools for so thats kinda a bummer. But I like that nothing can be squished once you scuplt it its done! But of course then I will have to mold and cast my works.
I had my husband on bourd for making silicone molds for me ,but we had a couple duds and now he doesnt want to do it! So I dont know if I have it in me to make the silicone molds.

One way I foudn that helps to soften clay it so blend it into a food processor put into a zip lock baggie then under an electric heating pad. That makes it pretty easy. Stuill not very easy for kato ,but most of the other clays arent that crumbly.
Ive got mine fairly well trained. he handles packing, shiping and clay conditioning sometimes. I guess molds was alot to ask!

I've used the food processor and I'm just too lazy.I have about 9 pounds of mixed clay that I use now for underarmatures, most of it is prosculpt mixed with cernit. Both me and hubby have carpel tunnel so getting him to do the hard work would put him in jeopardy of not being able to do his paying job!I wouldn't let him pack either LOL he does the dishes and the laundry thats good enough! LOL

Oh yeah cant have that. You sure do nice work for someone
whos got carpel.
A few years ago I started having swollen knuckles and that worried me so I started having him do that work.
defianty its preferabel to ahvng him doing dishes an laundry that way you can focus on sculpting!

Thanks, I had my right hand operated on 8 years ago and its fine can't over do it but the left will cause me trouble if I'm not careful. You learn to do with what you have. Is the swelling from athritis?

I never had swelling just pain and very stiff then I knew I needed the operation cause my hand didn't want to open and close the way I wanted it too! I was in the middle of doing a hair cut and had trouble opening and closing the scissors.
The week is my 4 anniversary of quitting and its still a bit hard at times, my hubby is still smoking so that makes it really hard. I gained so much weight from quitting and from not going out to work that I'm going to have Lap Band surgery on the 23, then my hubby is having rotator cuff surgery on the 29, its going to be a tough winter! lol

the op on my hand made it almost as good as new all I lost was some strength but if I over do it then the pain is annoying and I don't want to go through that op again.
Thanks I had to mow the grass today for the first time in years! lol its going to kill me! now I'm kicking my hubby for never wanting a riding mower!! lol

You must live towards the east or north. Its so dry and hot here that most lawns are half dead and when they do grow its very slow. my husband weedeats our lot once at the begining of summer.

The best looking males have some female aspects if you try to go too male you get a neandrethal look. Basicly a stronger jaw and eyebrows are key. I try to beef up the nose too. Most dollartists make the male brow too thin and plucked looking.
