Description You know that little cockroach character in WALLβ€’E, whom everyone says goes by the name of Spot? Yeah....

I'm freaking out because my coloring job sucks and Pixar Animation Studios probably appreciates it if their employees know how to work with colors. On the bright side, I enjoyed working with the pastels I used and kinda went overboard in the process. I was basically just having fun. (snigger)

Advanced critique is greatly encouraged, as always.

Edit: Oh gosh, I forgot to put Spot's core shadow in there. Oh well.... (heh)

Actually, the cockroach's name is Hal.

I think the coloring job is beautiful.

Ha-ha. Yeah, I realized that several weeks/months after I drew the picture. (snigger)

Thank you very much!

I think the colors look great! It's all bright and whimsical!

Aw, I've seen quite a bit of WALL-E art, but this is the first I've seen to feature Spot! Kudos to you for drawing him! And for that cute little caricature! I like the spots you put on his shell. ^^

Why aren't you satisfied? It looks fine to me! Really, I love the bright colors and the atmosphere of piece, it's somehow... magical.

Hmm, you worked with pastels, uh? It's always good to try out new tools... I've worked with pastels too, in Drawing classes, and I liked it... and my teacher also appreciated my work...

I'm never satisfied....

Yeah, I decided to experiment with a new medium. Turned out that I enjoyed working with the pastels, so I'll probably play with them again in the near future. I'm glad that you liked them and had a good word put in for your work, as well!

Thank you, Maggie!

Wow wow wow, super inspiring
The colors are really nice to see in your gallery. I'm a bit lost as to what it all comes to, but it's so nice.
Er...I hate critiquing :\ The b/g looks rough when you colored around Spot. Not the sort of glow, but the left part.
It's a pet peeve when someone tells me stuff I already know, so sorry if I peeved ya! The whole thing looks awesome overall. Now I wanna see a movie all about this little guy

Oh, no no no. I like critique! Believe me, I need all the help I can get, so thank you for the comment. Heheh.

Yeah, the background sucks. It was the first time I'd ever worked with pastels, plus I hardly ever do concept art/scenery, so it was bound to come out looking quite rough and unfinished. Practice makes perfect!

Thank you very much!

Wow, Mitch, you're very good with oil pastels! The blending is very lovely and Spot's expression is enough to make anyone smile.

Aha-ha. Well, thank you! I appreciate it.

I was actually spurred on by my mom as far as working with pastels goes. She did this beautiful drawing of a moth when she was in college, and I loved it so much that I decided to take a crack at the "miracle pencils". (chuckle)

Actually, it hasn't been completely confirmed yet that the cockroach's name is "Spot", but the little roach is in the film.

Oh, awesome! I've always wanted to see you work with more colour. I love the shading on Spot, there. His face has a lot of expression, as well. =]

Thank you very much!

P.S. I haven't forgotten about your request to draw Bloo, so don't worry! I'm gonna get on it. (heheh)

Totally wicked. I can't wait to see how you progress with more of a palette at your fingertips, as well as new mediums. =] This picture is so pretty. *fav'ed*

No problemo.

Oh, that's ok. I can't wait to see the picture when you do draw Bloo, but there's no rush. Thanks!
