Description
This is fanart piece of three characters from my DA buddy Lavenderblade's martial arts fantasy series.[link]
All of his character are badass to the power of chinese throwing stars. Usually I draw his female characters, but I want to get into drawing more of his righteous male characters too.
This piece features Demon Devin on top.
Eric, I mean Demon Estrada on the bottom.
And on the right is one of his flagship characters MFox.

This is a piece to show how excellently one can use markers. The shading and highlighting are great and add dimension to the piece.
DD in particular looks amazing. Very sexy.

Bizarrely the inspiration of kiya comes from a plant-based alien in a really old gamebook from when I was a kid. I just loved the "alien...slightly too-long limbed look" and then I decided she needed colour.
I never really found a place to use her until now - she was going to be in my "Kingdoms" comic - in fact you can see her in one of the pages I posted I think...and you can certainly see her butterflies. In that she had the "power" to control the butterflies and was a deaf assassin.

Insipration is great! it can come anytime from just about any place. I love it when something hits me out of the blue and i can't wait to get it down on paper. It's one of the best feelings. That and a cold beer after cutting the grass. Ah, that's good too.

Thanks alot. As always it was very fun to create. I really wanted to draw one of your guys, so Estrada was done first. And I really like the way he came out. I know it's good because my girlfriend told me that she didn't like him. She doesn't like bad guys so I knew it was a compliment.
I thought Devin came out really good too. Just a slight look of mischief on her face I think.
I like the whole thing and am pleased with it.

You certainly should be pleased, superb work. I like that look of mischief in Devin's face...that's what makes her such a cool character. I like the look on MFox and Estrada's face as well. You have such a talent for showing emotion with just the slightest angle of an eye or the twitch of a lip. I'm still studying your technique.
BTW, did your girlfriend like the other two?

She did like the others. I think she like it when I draw cute stuff so kickass shit like this isn't her favorite but she did approve.
I don't think I'm all that, but what you say about the emotions comes pretty natural to me.
I think Mfox looks fed up and ready to kick some ass.
Devin looks aware and michevious and Estrada looks just like Stormshadow in every GI Joe cartoon I ever watched growing up.

I love the look on all of their faces. The hint of green eyeliner on Demon Devin was a nice touch. Great work on MFox's choker too. I'm still excited about seeing this.
