well i think the left is a geiko (geisha) and the right a maikosaw them in Gion near the Yasaka Tower

actually they're neither. they're just tourists wearing henshin. i can tell because these kimonos and wigs look really fake.

nice pic but these arent real maiko, easy mistake to make though. you can tell by the lips, kanzashi, kago bags and their kimono. the seasonality is all wrong lol

actually maiko were the kanzashis throughout there work as a maiko geiko don't wear these kanzashi
i would suggest these are real maiko since they are also not wearing wigs.There probbably both junior maiko but since both lip's are painted they are passed there second year

Hello, nice picture, but these are not real maiko. It is hard to tell, but both their lips are painted which would mean second year maiko or above yet they still wear the dangling kanzashi. This is called maiko henshin, there are many studios in kyoto that do this now. It's a great experience!

I think they're both maiko. Only maiko geisha are allowed to wear kanzashi hair ornaments with the falls.
