Description Here is the 'final'. This was the first speedpainting I've done with recording/streaming. But recording is slowing down my workflow a bit.

Recordings:

I think this image could use much more work. On every part (color, compo, details, texture etc.) but I call it done. Up to the next one.

...btw, Vic falls = widest span of water falling at once...anywhere in the world!!

(Love spreading that around. It helps put Zed on the map )

⇑⇑⇑⇑⇑ From Zambia! Always loved Vic falls! Number one holiday getaway for the family and I.

And this piece kinda makes me think what it must have been like 'however-many-years-ago,' before we topped the food chain.

Stellar work

Looking pretty good, man. I'd try softening some of your edges, particularly around the falling water. Too many sharp edges right now. Also, your light isn't doing much for you right now. It's a tad ambiguous and and confusing. The foreground cliff is making a tangent with the rest of the cliffs, so things are flattening out there.

I'd also spend some time figuring out what you want your focal point to be. You've got a landscape here, but what should people be looking at?

Keep at it.

Thank you very much noah. I appreciate it a lot. Your points are very true, and although I see some of the mistakes while 'finishing' the piece I just let them be. Maybe I have to be more reflecting, even on speedies like this.

Good luck with your work!

Hot damn.
See, it's landscapes like this that made me want to join speedpaint in the first place. Now all I have to do... is actually paint something.

Glad you liked it

YEAAAH !!!
I cklicked today more than 150x to notifications hoping to find something for me and I found!
(among other things, but today this is a great little treasure)
Thanks a lot!

Brilliant shades of colors, not too detailed I like it.
Space for imagination and depth of beautiful shots.
I'm happy about it!

Thank you very much I know the feeling with the notifications, always hoping to find the pearl among the rougher rocks. Some sort of gambling I guess.
Glad you like it!

Nice landscape concept! More tones would definetly make this look better, but I love it as it is as well

Thanks, I agree on the tones, it's a little bit to flat

Really good stuff.
I think you're showing amazing progress in drawing environments, I'm pretty jealous .
Very cool to see the recordings.

As for the colors: I think I actually prefer the one you use at 1:28:00 (first video) the most. The sky and the water is now pretty much the same color and I think the colors you used at 1:28:00 really make the painting come alive, also because the lower part is blue (cold, water) and the top part is more orange/red like (warmth), which gave a pretty awesome contrast.

Awesome stuff

MittMac In reply to W-style89 [2011-01-05 11:31:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Your right about the contrast but I hated the outcome, so I got rid of the colors and got more towards monochrome. Maybe I'll tro some bold colors next time.

Which seminar are you doing this week? I have PaintPaint so I'm free today

W-style89 In reply to MittMac [2011-01-05 11:46:35 +0000 UTC]

yeah I understand.

I was going to do silence is golden, but the teacher is sick so I'm free this week. Next week too, I only have a seminar the third week . I wanted to do some ISA points but I saw that you had to fill in the form before 3 january, which I didn't . I'm gonna do the projects anyway and save all my progress and stuff. This week I'm working on my new portfolio site, it's programming time again .

What is PaintPaint?

MittMac In reply to W-style89 [2011-01-05 12:18:04 +0000 UTC]

'Paint,Paint plenty of paint' is about painting No we need to take at least 12 pictures from home and family and thursday/friday we start painting on big white paper. Tuesday we had to see the exhibition of Cecily Brown so I think that is the style/direction we are heading for.

I also wanted to do an ISA project, I talked about it with Bart before 3jan, but I have send in the form on 3jan. So let's see if they reply, I think not..
Good luck with your portfolio!
