P e r s o n a li t y :
As a means to impress the wealthy figures that are in his family's constant surroundings, Kai was taught early on how to present himself as well mannered and articulate. He is the polite gentleman at parties and public events- even if it means wearing a forced smile to avoid conflict with those of differing opinions. To exit any drawn-out conversations, Kai has found that the magics words: 'Excuse me, I have to take this call.' happen to work wonders- and he plays it like a broken record. He's built-up great self-control over the years (and a talent for biting his tongue...) but he's envious of those who can speak their mind freely. Of all the seven sins, the green-eyed monster sneakily stands above all others.

Keeping cool and composed for what his parents would call 'business matters', doesn't prevent the third year from letting his guard down when in good company. Though he's not one to be loud or outgoing, he actually enjoys laughing and having a good time. At most, the sheltered student might struggle with interactions outside of the 'rich and the famous' lifestyle- since they’re not a part of his comfort zone. The laid-back side of the young Okazaki comes from using his calm demeanour with a surprisingly playful tone to tease his close friends. It's a rarity BUT, he can get flustered if the roles are reversed.

The ability to manage personal finances is a skill he's inherited but chooses to ignore simply for the little bit of fun he gets out of it. As such, he spends generous sums of his family's money. This causes others to believe everything in life comes easily for him. There's constant whispers that his success and accomplishments were merely handed down to him, with little to no practice or study- and they're probably right.

B i o g r a p h y :
Kai's story starts with two influential people in the Japanese phone industry and the modeling world. His Father, owner of the technology company, Pomegranate (think Apple products haha), made a billion dollar name for himself and practically cornered the cellphone market. His mother, a beautiful upcoming model, did commercial advertisement shoots for the company. When she spoke the Pomegranate slogan, it was supposedly ‘love at first sight’.

His parents got together and married after only a few months of dating. Shortly after, they had their first and only child: Kai. Through the years, it was apparent to their son that their marriage was nothing more than an arrangement. His father got to attend events with a gorgeous trophy wife on his arm, while the Okazaki name opened plenty of doors and businesses opportunities for his mother. As a result, young Kai spent most of his time with staff who were payed to take care of his well-being.

The first few years of his education, Kai attended a private school. The perks of having a large allowance meant people didn’t mess with him- that and he had the ability to pay off recess bullies. 'Business savvy' ran through his veins, even then.

Upon reaching his high school years, it was decided that Kai would enroll into Tachikawa-High. It was during this time that his parents made their divorce official. The whispers of unfaithfulness and rumored lovers should've turned his life upside down, but, deep down, he'd always known his parents had a relationship doomed to fail. The divorce lead to shared custody, but Kai never preferred one parent over the other. His father remained level headed throughout the scandals, but buried himself further in his work. Their shared conversations are always short, revolving exclusively around maintaining high grades and knowledge of any important company business. His mother, on the other hand, acts out whenever the opportunity arises. The neighbors and the employees of the modelling agency she now runs, always have a field day with her string of failed relationships (which often causes Kai to play the role of the responsible parent). She, however, has taken a greater interest in her sons personal life and, occasionally, has some good motherly advice.

With such parental figures, Kai’s first year was quite eventful. He kept to himself, but made a few acquaintances in the soccer club he had joined. One such acquaintance was Tanaka Alo, who became his roomate after a late transfer in his first year. Kai grew extremely envious of this new guy who seemed to draw people in with such ease, to the point that he formed a 'secret' one sided rivalry with him. Surprisingly, that turned into genuine friendship. The two boys had a lot in common, from their parents divorces to the way they tended to fake happy- one for appearances sake, the other for those he cared for. There was an undeniable sense of brotherhood there.

It wasn't until a few months later that Kai would form another connection. He didn't know it at the time, but he was about to fall head over heals.

Tachikawa-RE Story

After the fire in the science wing left Tachikawa in need of reconstruction, it was decided that Kai would temporarily attend a neighbouring public school. Upon his arrival there, the whispers and the lingering looks in his direction made him realize just how much of an outsider he really was. The classroom atmosphere hinted at the mixed feelings in the room: Some were obliviously intrigued (if not completely infatuated) by the 'good looking rich kid' who sat amongst them, while others felt annoyed for those same reasons. All of that attention on him, and yet, Kai felt unbelievably lonely.

It was as if the entirety of Tachikawa-High had been sent elsewhere, only for him to end up alone- or so, he thought. While revisiting old videos on his phone, Kai heard someone singing along to his old school's familiar tune. Rushing around a corner in search of the musical source, Kai ended up face to face with none other than the girl he'd met under the cherry blossoms at Tachikawa-High. Just as it was then, her whimsical ways brought a smile to his face.

Being with Yuuhi made Kai's experience in this temporary school enjoyable. Though they were a year apart, the two continued to meet up outside of class. Through shared conversations, they quickly realized that they had a lot in common. Even as Kai gained noticeable popularity among his peers, he always found a way to Yuuhi's side.

When Kai received news that Tachikawa would be reopening in the spring, he worried about the uncertainty of the future. There was a long list of changes he foresaw coming, but the one thing he knew he couldn't lose was the relationship he had built with Yuuhi. Knowing this, he decided to voice his concerns about their return to Tachikawa, and even let slip that he had grown feelings that went beyond that of friendship. To his great relief, everything was mutual. Though he is both excited and anxious at the idea of returning to Tachikawa, he finds comfort in knowing that they will walk this path together, hand in hand.

> His other bad habit is coffee. Without a daily dose of caffeine before taking on any projects, the third year will lack that usual sparkle.
