"Hey Frank!  Frank!  C'mere Frank!" I laughed and rolled my eyes at my friend and co-worker Meghan.  She had been introducing me to all sorts of gentlemen at our party and it was getting pretty ridiculous.  First it was heavy Harry Pult, the man who had to have suspenders on at all times unless he wanted to show off his pink underwear.  Trust me.  I had already seen it.  From Harry, it went downhill and I couldn't wait to see this man.

"Frank, Frank….FRANK!" I finally took large steps to the place across the room where Meghan was, her friend hidden in the shadows.  I was amazed I could hear her over the music, music I had produced personally.  Although the party was for the band, I couldn't help but feel accomplished.  They had to be my best work so far.

"What is it Meggie?" I took a drink from the red solo cup in my hand, grinning.  She hated that name.

"Don't call me Meggie!" she whined, sticking out her tongue at me before giving a high-pitched giggle.  She was definitely drunk by this time.  "Meet Davey, your new boyfriend!"  She shoved the shadow-covered man towards me and dashed off.

"Er, sorry about that.  That lady, she just kind of kidnapped me…" the man trailed off, running his hands through his long platinum blonde hair.  It was obviously dyed, but I liked it just the same.

"It's okay.  She's been trying to hook me up with guys all night." I sighed before taking another sip, more like a chug, from the shiny cup.

He cocked a dark eyebrow at me before folding his arms across his wide chest.  I blamed the muscles for how wide it was.  "Does she do this often?"

"Ever since I told her I was gay." I smirked, waiting for him to be repulse.  He didn't seem like the type to put up with guys like me.  "Her being drunk doesn't help either."

"You're gay?" I nodded.

"Then you won't mind if I do this," he grabbed the front of my red button-down shirt and pulled me in for a kiss.  I quickly pushed him off.

"What the hell!" I exclaimed, my eyes wide with astonishment.

He grinned cheekily before crossing his arms again.  "Good.  You're not a whore.  Want to have dinner with me tomorrow?"

I looked down at my pocket, fingering the box located inside of it gently.  Davey and I had never really spoken about marriage before, but I felt it was time.  I loved him, he loved me.  I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and I hoped he did too.  The ring would have been a waste otherwise.

"Hey, you weren't listening," Davey reached over and poked my shoulder, grinning lazily.

"Sorry, distracted."  I reached down and grabbed my sandwich that I was nibbling on.  I wasn't all that hungry, but it would help me focus.

"I'm so glad that you thought of this, Frank.  The park's really pretty today." He leaned back and lay against the grass, closing his eyes.

We remained silent for a while, him relaxing in the sun and me fidgeting like crazy.
Finally, I spoke.  "Hey, have you ever thought of us getting married someday?"

Without pause, Davey answered with, "Yes – but not to you."

From there, I remained seated for a moment, attempting to understand what had just come from that man's mouth.  When I understood, I got up without a word and called a taxi.

I had arrived home before Davey and I created a chaos in the apartment.  I threw clothes, glass, anything that was within reach as I packed up.  I made sure to break the photos that contained him and me together.  I couldn't leave them intact.

"Frank.  Frankie.  Wake up." I blinked rapidly as I encountered a heavily bearded face, thinking that Davey had grown a beard.

"Oh God, Bob!" I moaned before rolling back over.  My heart was pounding, but I put the blame on him.

"You okay, man?  You were yelling out random things and tossing and turning.  I thought you were having a seizure." He looked down, concerned at me before I shook my head no.

"I'm fine.  Just a dream."

"What a dream." I heard him mutter before exiting my room.  I did have to admit, Bob was the best person I had ever lived with.  He was there when I wanted to talk but somehow managed to disappear when I was in a foul mood.  He was willing to do the chores and help pay the bills.  He and I just understood each other, and it was amazing.

Bob even was good with Anya and Adam.  For some reason, Flo still let them come over whenever they wanted to and she even found out about the "Daddy" thing.  She had thought it was absolutely cute and she approved of Bob, after meeting him when she got back from her mother's.  Her mother was doing fine.

I sat up in bed, trying to figure out what I would do today.  I needed to talk to Flo.  Perhaps going down to her shop would be best.

"Some guy named Gerard called."

"WHAT." I yelled, almost sprinting for the recording machine.

"I answered it, calm down," Bob said calmly, as if me running for the phone was completely normal.  "He said that he'd be back sometime this week and to be ready."

"Ready for what?" I shrieked, my heart racing.  Gerard would be back, which mean Mikey was doing well again.  They had both left for the city to test out a new doctor for Mikey.

"I don't know dude." He rolled his eyes before continuing to make breakfast, which smelled like a vegetarian omelet.  "Who is this Gerard guy anyways?"

"Just a friend, Mother." I sat down at the kitchen island, my mind spinning with the possibilities.  What would I need to be ready for?

"He doesn't sound like just a friend." Bob placed a blue plate in front of me before sitting down across the island.

"Well he is…for now." I muttered the last part before grinning.  Bob grinned back.

"Am I gonna have to beat him up if he breaks your heart?"

"Way to switch genders. First you're the inquisitive mother and now you're the violent father.  You'll confuse people if you keep up that act," I tore at the omelet, stuffing it into my mouth.  Now I definitely needed to see Flo.

"Funny.  My wife said I was too boring so that's why she had to go find, "Roberto" and become cozy with him."  Bob laughed half-heartily, causing me to fling a bit of egg at him.  He deserved better.

The shop was quiet and empty as I walked to the counter, hoping Flo was around.  I knew she was smarter than that to leave her shop wide open when she wasn't there.

"About time you visited, Frank." I heard the voice come from the far back, making me wonder how she knew it was me.

"I've been busy with Bob." I replied, following the clanging sounds that had started up.

"Are you guys in a bromance now?" Flo asked, standing up as I entered the room.  Somehow, she had managed to get flour absolutely everywhere, making me think of a cartoon.

"He's my backup if Gerard doesn't work out." I grinned as I headed over to the sinks to wash my hands.

"I think I like him better than Gerard.  I haven't seen that boy in forever."
I started forming round balls next to Flo, helping her prepare her batch of rolls. Rolls were always her least favourite to bake.

"He's coming back this week.  He called me and told me so.  He said that I should 'be ready.'"

Flo glanced over at me, taking in right away my happy glow that surrounded me when I talked about Gerard.  "What does he mean by that?" she asked, but only to make me pleased.

"I don't know, but I can't wait!"

"Frank," I turned around to feel a pair of soft lips melt against my own.  I could automatically tell they were Gerard's and I worked with his for several minutes.  I liked this type of greeting.  It needed to happen a lot more often.

"I'm ready, if you are." He whispered, pulling away to nibble on my ear gently.

"Ready for what?" I asked, confused as to what he meant.  My mind was already so foggy.

"To date, start a relationship." He kissed the shell of my ear, making each part he kissed tingle.

"Okay," I agreed softly, being pulled into a hug.  The best hug I had received.
