Description

Watercolor, ink, & white acrylic on board, 11x14". Created for the "Spirit Animal" art show at La Bodega Gallery in San Diego, CA. If interested in the original, please inquire with the gallery (www.labodegagallery.com )

The idea behind this piece is that we as humans all have an ongoing battle inside us: emotion vs. rational thought. In the animal totems lore, the kingfisher represents spirituality and intuition; it guides into the depths of emotions and the subconscious. The rabbit, however, is grounded, it moves carefully and plans ahead. Finding a balance between those two aspects of human nature is key.
