Yes thank you. The Chinese usually did their art in a sort of monochromatic style and all of their art is filled with symbolism. Just as the Japanese art is.

Aww, how nice you are. Please know though that Iβm not an illustrator, only a colorist. I try to find coloring pages that speak to me, and then color them to speak to others.

yes for the drawings or paintings the colors are few and the range is limited. But why stay in the classic? Why do not you get inspired by the colors they use for tattoos and which are much more varied and colorful?Β to bring modernity to old portraits?

Sometimes it is preferable to be more colorful. Have you seen two of my more colorful Chinese pieces, Little Princess and Her Kitten & Prince of the Tang Dynasty? The Prince is the one with the long hair and the more ornate clothing. The young man on the far left is his cousin while the slightly older one in the middle is the bodyguard..
He has watched over these two young men since he was 8 & they were only 5. He is the cooks son and while 3 years may not seem like a big age gap it can be when he is 15 & they are still only 12. They all basically grew up together and are bonded friends. Notice the bodyguard has shorter chopped hair and his clothing is rougher, with skin showing. The cousin, while being of royal blood is not as highborn and his hair is slightly longer & clothes are more in keeping with his standing in the royal hierarchy. Isnβt it funny that I give backstory to my pieces? It helps me when I color them.

yes I looked, I understand what you mean ... it's true that you have to consider the story, I had not thought about it!
