Description
Color pen drawing of NBA player Allen Iverson who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers. This time I wanted to try a half body drawing because it allows me to show more close up detail on his face, jersey and tattoos! The background needed many layers of pen and took ages to complete! Philadelphia as a team have really struggled over the past few years and I hope they do better next season.Color ball point pens and felt tip pens.
A4 size paper.
Completed in 2 weeks.

Thanks! Yeah I was a big fan of Iverson when he was playing for the Sixers. Shame he never won a championship in 2001 but he had a amazing run in the playoffs that season.

Yeah it was sad to see him traded. But I still enjoyed watching many of his games with the 76ers and I hope he does better with Denver.

Yes I did this drawing in May this year. I was 27 back then but I turned 28 this month! It was very hard because the majority of the shading was ball point pen and some was felt tip pen. Ball point pen requires so many layers to shade so you really have to be patient! It's very easy to make a mistake which can't be erased so you can't shade to hard! But I love working with pen, it's my fav choice of media right now!

Thanks! Yes I worked a very long time on the background to do so many layers of color! I first used a dark pink felt tip pen, followed by a dark pink ball point pen, then a white color pencil and lastly a black ink biro pen!
