Finally! I've finished my color pen drawing of one of my fav jpop singers Namie Amuro! Ref photo taken from the Filmography dvd celebrating 5 years of Namie Amuro from 2001 to 2005. This look is from the song called WoWa! It has a really cool video where she looks really cute in the beginning and turns really sexy at the end! There's even a animated clip with the pink panther romancing a female! I've been doing so many close up portraits recently so I thought it would be nice to do a half body shot for a change. The last time I used color pen was when I did the 4 NBA players earlier this year. I have to say it's twice as hard doing a color pen drawing of someone lighter skinned because it's difficult getting the balance of the skin tone right. I had a limited set of colors so I had to experiment abit to see what would work. I completely forgot that you need so many layers of color pen for shading! It's so much more comfortable using color pencil! I wanted to make sure I drew the tattoos on her arm correctly because she dedicated one to her mum who passed away. I had to use 3 ref photos at the same time because I couldn't find a photo where you could see the tattoos completely! 1 showed more from the left, 1 showed more from the right and 1 was slightly more close up! I used a pink color pencil for the background which I shaded lightly because I wanted her outfit to stand out.
My fav Namie Amuro song and video would have to be Put'Em Up!

A4 size paper.
Completed in just over a week but the hours were long!
