Description I've been practicing/making alot of origami washi dolls. She is made out of Yuzen paper.

She is beautiful! I would love to learn how to make dolls like these - do you have any suggestons on sites, books, etc!

Yeah I started making these from a Japanese art book "washi ningyo" I think... look it up you have to really search. Sorry I have to look for my books since I've put them away. But just start there with the japanese origami paper dolls and you can find all kinds of them.

I am thinking about making this because i have several books about it, but i'm wondering where you get the materials for the doll's head. I know where to buy the hair paper and the washi paper, but i'm not sure where to buy the paper for the head--is it just white tissue paper?

Its paper clay, I would use the Creative Paperclay. It dries pretty quickly, but for the shine. I would apply some glue to the head and let it dry.

yuzen is only hand dyed? xDDDDDD
or is there any pinted yuzen? XDD

Thats what chiyogami is for, it's the printed version of washi, but there is other paper that is printed but might be another type of washi...there are so many

Washi simply means "paper", Yuzen is a type of washi that is hand made and dyed. There are so many types of washi paper out there

Beleive it or not but this is my third doll, my first doll was horrible then I made the second one and it came out o.k., but tis is my third and she looks pretty good. I've made 22 dolls so far!!!
