For those not familiar, Qibli (left) is a SandWing from the Wings of Fire (WoF) book series by Tui T. Sutherland. He's an exceptionally observant and clever young rogue who attends the Jade Mountain Academy, a school where all seven tribes of dragons come to learn about one another in the hopes of fostering tolerance and understanding. Smolder (right) is a tough young dragon girl with a secret soft side from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (MLP). She is one of several young non-ponies who attends Twilight Sparkle's School of Friendship where ponies (and others!) come to learn about the magic of friendship.

Yeah, can't imagine why I see the two of them interacting.

Smolder: Pfff, so this Jade Academy of yours is just about different dragon tribes getting along? Real original.

Qibli: Ah, then this School of Friendship you're so proud of must be so one of a kind then, like you?

Smolder: Faintly blushing, trying not to look like he's getting under her scales You better believe it.

Technically, I've gotten the two commissioned together a few times before, but it's a challenge integrating the two visual styles. MLP has more bipedal, toony-looking dragons where WoF has them on all fours and, if you've seen the book covers, tends for a more 'realistic' artistic approach.

But I still wanted to see one where Smolder was drawn in a more WoF-style, non-plantigrade, so here we are!

There's talk of a Wings of Fire series coming to Netlfix. I'm certainly excited!
