Time for the annual art summary!!

I'd say my style is getting more consistent, but this year I've been trying to get rid of some style things I keep doing all the time but of which I don't like. x3 Anyway~ maybe this year wasn't big on improving my art, but I thought about my characters constantly and made a lot of character development (especially with Cale and Tedders) and I'm happy!! ^^ It gives me a purpose and I'm so grateful for all the nice comments and faves I've received from you. <33 Thank you new watchers, old watchers, friends and mutuals, you're awesome. <3

In personal life, geez yeah wow this year..... There's this life change that has occupied my thoughts for the whole year. I have talked about it a lot IRL and on Discord, but barely here on dA. Well, here we go:
On January 1st I had an awful hangover, and a week later I made my decision to quit drinking forever. Alcohol has been a big part of my life for fifteen years. 2020-2022 were definitely my heaviest drinking years... with the worst hangovers, darkest thoughts, failed attempts to reduce my drinking and me hiding the truth about how much and how often I actually drank. Still, I never found my alcohol use problematic and I always thought it was under control. No, it wasn't. Alcohol and my mental health/self-worth issues have never been compatible and they've only fed each other.
I've been completely sober this year, and I'm so proud of myself. I'm done hiding my drinking, and I'm done with drinking. This year hasn't been a smooth ride, and every now and then I've had to deal with my strong urge to once again "treat" my anxiety with alcohol. (April was a super tough month. I was a nervous wreck.)

So, yeah!! This year has had its ups and downs, of course, and it wasn't an easy one. But I made it! I made some new friends, started playing DnD, went to concerts, played music, listened to music, had fun, felt alive and happy. The good stuff. ^^ <3
Super big thanks to my friends who have been patient, supportive, kind and always reminded me there's good in me even when I've failed to see it myself. THANK YOU. I love you. <3
