It is an pen and ink illustration that I drew traditionally and then digitally colored for the Christmas card I mailed to family this year. Here is what I wrote for the inside:

Christmas is...
Christmas is a brightly lit tree gleaming like a beacon in the night, illuminating decorations that twinkle and glitter as so many priceless treasures.
Christmas is a plate of homemade cookies filled with the hope, dreams, and anticipation of the children snuggled tightly in their beds.
Christmas is the joy of family and the love of parents who wait till their babes are fast asleep before tip-toeing through the darkened house to... well... shhhh, that is a secret.
Christmas is springing out of bed in the morning to gawk in wonder at the empty glass of milk and plate of crumbs that mark, for sure, that Santa has stopped by.
Christmas is magic.
