Wendy & Richard Pini's Chot and Shenshen, a la me.The greatest disapointment of the Forevergreen Saga (besides that random switch to black and white at the end) is that Chot and Shenshen never hook up!
Alot of people give Shenshen crap, and say she's a 'useless female'. I adore her. She's cute, smart and brave. Sure, I would have loved to see Shenshen waving around a sword, disembowling people; but thats not her. She faces danger with an immeasuarable supply of calm. Unlike most 'useless female characters', she doesnt need anyone to save her, nor does she shrill or panic when the going gets tough. She's quite practical, and so I have a soft spot for her. I'm rather upset that her only cameos after that seem to be in scenes where a large number of lady-elves are drooling over Skywise.
And as for Chot, yes, he's annoying at times-- but there are those rare moments when he, indeed, looks rather beautiful.
Here's to Chot and Shenshen.

Shenshen ISN'T useless!!!
It was HER idea , to consult 'Old Maggot', when, in Leetah's absence, Strongbow got rabies - a disease, in whole medical history only ~10(!) patients survivfed, when symtoms have already broken out...
She volunteered to Dart's rescue-mission for Windkin... (doesn't at all sound 'useless' to me... )

I started a Fan-Fic about Shenshen & Chot in the last millenium (~1995. Wow! It's THAT old! )
Unfortunately I saved it on 3.5"-diskettes (That's REALLY old... )

Yeah, I kinda am not a big fan of the new stuff. Discovery seems a bit rished to me, and I wish that the Chot and Shenshen thing would have carried on, they are such a contrast that recignition would be far to interesting to pass up.

Discovery had pretty art, of course--but I see what you mean. It was alot to fit into such a small volume and so alot of complexities were lost...@.@ Such a pity! Maybe in the future, Wendy will be kind to us an reunite Shenshen and Chot. That would certainly be interesting and complex. x.x
