Description My second painting for my Narrative Painting class, inspired by a 3 sentence prompt about a guy being chased on a vespa through Italian alley ways.

There is so much cat hair in this painting that it should be considered another medium x.x When I first started this I thought Hey, awesome! An excuse to draw a vespa! But then it quickly became a painful process wherein I labored for days until I grew to despise just about everything about it. It was way out of my comfort zone , this "modern" sort of art. I couldnt even think of what clothes he should wear! At last, it became this. I hope it was worth it. ..

To paint is to slowly and deliberately go insane! x.x

Vespaaaaaa~! I adore this. You may have spent a lot of time on it, but it looks effortless.

Vespas and sideburns? What are you trying to do to me over here?

Seriously, though, that guy could totally be working a Chester A. Arthur angle if he wanted to.

Let us imagine for a moment that I know who Chester A. Arthur is.

Chester A. Arthur, our hairiest president: [link]

He was the greatest of them all (in regards to facial hair).

My eyes, they bleed.

BECAUSE THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE PURE UNDILLUTED BEAUTY.

The perspective is made of love! I'm really impressed, and the details, like the clothes drying there and everything are very nice ^^

Woohoo, lookit the shiny. I'm digging the angle here. @__@ The sheets! Great touch. A very great touch.

By the way, I don't know WHAT you've been doing with painting hair lately but it blows my mind every time.

The hair? Tiny brushes and a combination of watercolor and gouache!

Your suffering paid off. I think it looks great! Even in the thumbnail I really liked the lighting and it looks even better full view'd. The perspective is perfect too- all the walls and balconies look solid and aren't leaning at weird angles.

Did you use gel pen or acrylic to do the white highlights on him and the scooter?

I used white goauche for the highlights.
