Description
My latest piece. This is the first print of mine that is available in that spiffy "studio" print.I won't go into detail as to its meaning. I'll leave that up to you all.

No not at all. I love Reptile....its just that I had already put together my journal features before you had posted Reptile to have it ready to post as soon as Doug had finished making the journal which I had hoped would have been last weekend but unfortunately due to the severe limitations in DA we had to do many many changes to the journal thus it wasnt posted till last night.
Definitely NOT a reflection on the piece or what I think of it. At the time i compiled the journal, the featured piece was your last piece you had posted.

Great piece Brandon. Love the vivid overtones of angst and yet the doves give it a feel that everything is ok.

Thank you very much! That's pretty much what I was going for; along with the subtle hint that the "darkness" behind her forms a pair of wings. With the doves, perhaps she is the symbol for purity in a dark world, fighting off corruption? 
Really the majority of my work is a symbol for some sort of internal struggle or action. I make what I know...

Well its how i saw it and since you havent told us a legend of this wonderful piece Im glad that I see it somewhat in how you had intended. Ive said this before, 100 different people see 1 piece 100 different ways. For an artist to share and draw us into his vision the only way we will see that vision as the artist does is for him/her to describe that vision thts why I always put stories with my work. Even just a sentence of description is all thats needed. I have a pet hate about artists who share their works with the world and just post dots or dashes in the comments about the piece. To me, its lazy and demeans and insults that work and their skills in not sharing their vision of something that has obviously taken a long time to make. No-one can see deep into the mind of another and all these artsy fartsy art critics and analysers cant either...share with us your visions as well as your thoughts ...just one more way to appreciate the piece.

True that. I agree with you.
I didn't post a meaning because... I don't know it. I can say a ton of dark shit has happened in my life in the last month; life changing events. This was maybe my way of coping with it all? That there is hope; not to let the darkness consume me. I know that in my heart and I am dealing with everything fine, but maybe subconsciously this was my way of dealing with it all?
But yes. Truth be told, I didn't leave one because I don't know it myself. Even the name is utterly meaningless. "1 Hour" simply comes from me keeping hourly updates on the pic. My PSD was named "1" so I simply made the JPGs "1-Hour1.jpg" and would change them accordingly.
It's really just a pic from the heart and groin. A lot of my work is made with no idea of a message. I just create and see how my heart guides my hand. When it's all said and done I can usually come up with some sort of reason for it like I did in the reply to your comment; but none of it was thought of when I was creating. It would distract me if I was trying to convey a specific thing. I'm too much of a perfectionist and would end up never finishing the pic. I just have to disconnect myself and let it all flow from the heart.

Well thats they way it should be....from the heart and even without you consciously knowing it those free flowing artistic actions are also coming from your mood and often even a lot deeper than we all realise it.
Perhaps when its all done, you look at it and describe to the observer what you see and I think you will surprise yourself in recognising that its a piece of healing in more ways than just the need to create something artistic.
