Neither upgraded nor formated. I installed it on a drive where I had plenty of free space left. A fresh install

Good luck with that. I think the June would be the best time to buy Windows Vista as all the incompatible software would be hopefully compatible with Vista by then

Yeah, that's right... but when i was testing Beta versions, most of my software were compatible with Vista already... Near all of them, so that's not a problem for me.

So far so good. I have not yet experienced any lags even with a lots of heavy apps running.

Yep, pretty much the same specs.

But Vista isn't all about eye-candy, so whenever it gets in my way I'll disable the fancy aero and other effects
