All i think this one needs is some improved surface work, and a slightly more realistic cloudscape, and this would be a very realistic piece. For the clouds, i would say maybe using 3d clouds a bit, I personally like those better then the 2d, but they do take a bit of working with to get to look decent. There is a tutorial on =adit page for clouds, and also one for snow i think. I also have a large list of links in one of my journals i put together a while back which may be of some interst to you.

Yeah so do, on sites like Renderosity, I see all sorts of backslapping and what not. What i fail to see usually is actual critiques of the work. Myself, i ended up leaving rendo back when i first started with TG because i wasnt getting any help. I went over to Terranuts, and have stuck there for a long time now, as they are pretty helpful, and because of that i was able to improve.
I have been known to give my honest thoughts about a piece to those who are noticeably better then myself lol... and i will continue to do so to their dismay
