It is an HDR, 3 exposures mixed into one, and tonemapped in an HDR processing program called photomatix pro.

Okay - that confuses the hell otuta me. Let's pretend I just take pictures with an outdated DSLR (Fujifilm FinePix S7000 and Use Photoshop 6.0.1 coz I'm old school)

yeah, and some brightness and contrast changes. I really like tone mapped images. I have yet to totally master it though.
