Jake's Critiquing Corner
Hello! I am Jake Sanzer, a new-found member of Deviant Art in grand search for great art to review. I have stumbled onto molegato's page, and immediately fell in love with his artwork. After a short request to do so, I selected a piece of his at random to review... and here we are. So without further ado, my review.
Low-poly Models That Look Good? No Way!
The title says it all... of all the things one might find here on DA, there is certainly no shortage of pixel art, though it may not make it to the front page every week. One thing that I found particularly of interest to me were some interesting little low-poly models done by--you guessed it--molegato himself. The idea of creating a rotating 3D model is not exactly the most extravagant... but in particular I loved the idea of a low resolution 3D model that made low-res LOOK GOOD. Extra points for RPG themes and such in his artwork, I eat that stuff up! It's great.
Commissions For My Own 3D model?? Get Out!
Speaking of extra points... nothing deserves more attention than the fact this guy is nice enough to put out TONS of great commissions, including the one I am reviewing right now. This piece, supposedly done for a OC couple Adam and Lappazol, showcases perfectly the detail and love molegato puts into these neat little turntable models. The reason I selected this piece in particular is to also showΒ emphasisΒ on what beautiful work he does on pixel art on the surface of these models... nothing he does would be complete without an 8-bit smile stitched onto the side of it. (or whatever bit this is... I should google that later)
How Many Are There? Lots, and More to Come!
Don't stare too deeply into the full gallery of molegato's 3D Low-Poly Series, or it will seriously make you dizzy! Scrolling through the already HUNDREDS of colorful pixel-y models he has completed shows that this art form he's taking up is no small project... it's a real GIF(t) that he's putting to work and I can't wait to get one of these for my own! Of course that's no promise molegato... I need to get my next paycheck first! But speaking of pay, another boasting comment to the reasonable price of these works of art. DA is all about those commissions--and for those who are looking for something different this is just the type of different they are looking for! Hands up in applause for money well spent.
Final Remarks
So to wrap up this review of such beautiful, cute and fun low-poly models, I certainly can't wait to start watching out for molegato's next great creations... as long as I don't get too disoriented from their spinning. I personally would give molegato's pieces a proud 9.6 out of 10 pixels... and I seriously will consider getting one of my own. Hats off to you, molegato, I really do love your work and I'm sure all of your watchers agree. That's all for this review, I thank you all for reading... please do, if you haven't already give this guy a watch and a Llama if you'd like, and follow me for some more critiques on great art... can't wait to see where the next work lies. Sanzer, out!
Cheers,

If i were to commission two characters together, Β would the price be doubled from the regular price? Β Β Β Β Β Β

Yep, price is per character, independiently of wether they're together in the same final image, or separated. You could even get the three images (two separated ones and the group image) and you'd pay two. ^^U
