Description Batgirl fan art... I'm a fan of the character and also a fan of who is the content creator who made the costume meshes and textures available at www.sharecg.com/v/71191/browse… .  Batgirl is a character of DC Entertainment who has all rights to the character.  This fan art is a tribute and makes teh Mollz no richer.

Molly's art notes: The picture was set up in Poser Pro 2014 and then rendered with Octane Render.  I'm getting better with textures in Octane Render and Lux Render but still far from perfect so if the textures don't please your eye, don't blame but blame my clumsy conversions.   Terry will admit he is not a very good hair creator but I suspect his textures are better than what I am using here.

like he r

try setting the scale down on diffuse/spec/bump to like .1 the outfit will look better as the bumps will be smaller I ran into this a while back learning and like you am still learning the mats in octane.

Oooh!  Thank you for the pointer.  I'll give it a try.  I'm glad you like my base concept here.

Yeah the textures do jump out a little. Lighting is such a big difference maker, that it's almost impossible to make textures that look the same in all possible renders. (Yeah I don't like hair modeling at all. ) It's a nice render though.

I did another render with Firefly that is more fair to your textures, Terry.   It's here if you haven't seen it: Exactly the same pose just lit and rendered with Firefly and no modification of your original textures.

As for the hair, I think your texture is probably better than mine.

Mainly, thank you for sharing stuff like this.  I have a very nice section of my Poser library that I can thank you for!

I'm a little bit better hair modeler now than when I released this costume. It's funny. I actually asked if any texture artist at renderosity would have helped me texture the hair in this costume and no one wanted to.

The texture you made is isn't bad at all, but I figure there must be a way to get it to have those shadows in the waves without "baking" them in but darned if I know how.  I think I need to study up on the materials room more.  Someday I'll try something so ambitious but for the moment all I can do is monkey around with other people's work a bit.

The guy who came up with transmapped hair, was someone called kozaburo. Before his invention we only had very plastic looking hair models. Kozaburo changed all that. I suspect that his method is used in video games and movies as well, when it comes to hair models. His method of making 3d hair is fantastic, but it has one drawback; The highlights in the hair come from textures and not from the lights in the scene.

I think I may have some stuff in the library from Kozaburo! Much more than half our library was collected by my husband before I started using Poser and you would not believe how much stuff we have. He first started using Poser back when it wasn't even available for Windows, which is more than 10 years ago I think.  My current favorite hair content provider is called "AprilYSH".  Somehow we have to figure out how to get by without "baking" the highlights onto the textures.   Of course, my attempt at it in this picture is not very good, but I am going to figure it out somehow.

Hehe, I have collected poser stuff for many moons as well. My runtime is so weird, you wouldn't believe. There was a time when I was obsessed with freebie 3d objects of any kind: Chairs, tables historical buildings..etc etc.. I kept importing them into poser and just kept looking at them

April is one of those really talented content creators. I have bought some of her hair figures and they are just insanely bettter than anything I can make.

They are wonderful.  Beside the great texturing there are always a bunch of morphs to help fit to various characters and to subtly alter the style and movement of the hair.

Yeah some vendors liek April dedicate a lot of time in a very specific field of content creation and the results speak for themselves.

What a confident, yet whimsical pose. Casual and unconcerned, and yet not too light, taking life seriously, without being too grim. A good shapely build not to thin or thick with pleasing curves, which are athletic yet not musclebound and a generous chest without being too generous. A balanced bat-beauty.

I like the difference of textures between cowl and bodysuit in particular, the boots, gloves and flow of the cape provide a good compliment without seeming to be the same material just colored differently. Wonderfully compelling eyes with lips colored well, with perhaps being tad too thin, but that is more personal taste. If I stand back and judge it in relation to face and figure, they really do work well and take nothing away from the beauty of this tribute to a terrific heroine so many craft art and story about.

Heh.  The lips are pressed together in an odd expression so it's hard to tell.  Maybe I should do another rendering with a more neutral expression on her face but you know me.... Just can't help messing about and tweaking things.   Thank you for taking the time to comment, Jeffery!

Thank you!  I pretty much owe it all to .  Arguably a lot of his more recent content is much better, too.
