Sonic the Hedgehog has a very clear style and these characters don't adhere to the cartoon formula. Here is a tutorial for how to draw Sonic. If you master his underdrawing, it can help you with other characters.
If you don't want to draw like the cartoon, there are a lot of Sonic comics . There are really cartoony comics and more "realistic" ones . You should browse those covers and see what looks stand out to you.
Since you are designing two adult female mammals, I'd suggest studying Vanilla the Rabbit and Princess Sally Acorn . Maybe Marine the Raccoon too.
In the Sonic Universe, female characters generally wear some type of clothing so you should give them at least basic outfits.
In terms of technique, you need to work on getting a solid color. Your coloring is really scratchy right now. Also, when you photograph a piece of traditional work, you want to be careful to avoid getting those dark spots in the corner. Next time, try laying the picture flat on the ground by a window. Stand over the picture and don't use a flash.
You're still getting the hang out this style so don't be discouraged. Do some research and practice often. You'll get it eventually.
