Every period debate reminds me of this exchange I had with my bro once.
Him: I have a tummy ache, what do I do?
Me: Take a painkiller and carry on, that's expected of us women too.

Eh eh eh. That's the kind of things I'd like to answer to my husband when he's got a tummy ache ^^
But instead I look for real solution : giving him food.

My bro; maybe 1 or 2 --> snarky replies
My bf; infinity --> What's wrong honey? Anything I can do? Have you taken your meds? *hugs*

yeah it's A THING! People should get over it!!!!
And also give women at least 1 day off each month for period pain
It knocks me out even with pain medication, I'm like a zombie and can't function
And women are still expected to work normally on that day
BULLSHIT

I don't even take medication anymore as it's pretty useless. Fortunately the pain is not staying all day long but just come from time to time. So I sit, explain why I'm down if someone ask and go back to work. Because that's what everybody is expecting from me and I'm used to it. Understanding from both men and women should be a first step and I feel like it's going better now.
At least we still have the right to work and stay home. I learnt that in some countries women go away from their home and girls can't go to school. Welcome to the Middle Age.

Yeah I don't know how it is considered around you but I know there's some places around the World that need to work on that (thinking about women who leave the house once a month or girls that can't go to school or don't even know it's normal and think they are sick)

I live in a modern country but there are still that jokes about the effect on women that men just can totally understand.
