Description So I was starting to learn Hiragana a few days ago... then decided to do a chart (+ some other things down there) to help me.

EXCUSE ME FOR MY HORRIBLE, CRAPPY HANDWRITING. I didn't really want to use computer-ized hiragana... so I wrote my own o_o.

So yeah, I hope my table/chart is understandable enough I'd understand if people get confused, since I confuse myself. A lot. @_@ (Or maybe I'm just tired, lol)

Answer Key for "Examples" under "The basic letters"

かんじ - kanji ------------ ぱんこ - panko

うつわ - utsuwa --------- りんご - ringo

くるま - kuruma ---------- さくら - sakura

おげんきですか? - How are you?

こんばんは! - Good evening!

Ah yes... if there are any errors, I'm sorry! >< I'm still kind of new at this, so please tell me if you find any errors.

EDIT:
OH WOW CRUD I'M SO DIRECTIONALLY CHALLENGED
Under "Double Consonants", in my 2nd paragraph... I meant "left". LEFT. Not right. -coughs- T___T;; (EDIT#2: Mwahhaa I changed it NOW I AM NO LONGER DIRECTIONALLY CHALLENGED <3)

Sorry if I sound like an idiot.. but what are the mini charts on the right at the top I get that they're more basic letters, but the arrows...?

They're also part of the hiragana! And do you mean the dark purple arrows? I added them in to show that they're written the same way as the ones to their right, but have a slight difference of an extra marking.

For example, 'ba' and 'pa' are written the same way as 'ha' except they both have the mark on the top right.

Hope I helped! (Haven't touched on this in a while ><)

Sorry for the late reply!

Like adzo911 said, it's both. It's kind of a mix. Trying pursing your lips together and lightly blowing air out while saying 'uu'. If you're a flute player, the technique of playing the instrument and saying hu/fu are almost the same.

I'm gonna favorite this, it might be helpful. I'm learning Japanese in language club and trying to just learn japanese without it being in characters right now.

I'll print it and hang on the fridge. Oh, and your handwriting is normal. Don't be a perfectionist.
