I loved the book scene but the movie version was great too. They said they did it that way so it was just them and so it had a feel of how little time Thorin actually had. And, at least for me, it made it all the more emotional.

I'm just looking at this and I'm thinking to myself Bilbo has fallen asleep while watching over Thorin who was knocked unconscious or fainted from the head injury.
This scene has already emotionally crippled me enough!

They really really should have done the Bilbo-Thorin scene like this, in a healing tent. Oh and you have also tugged my heart out and cut it into half with your alternate Kili/Fili death scene I see in your gallery.

Czytałam, ale o dziwo śmierć w książce nie zrobiła na mnie większego wrażenia. Za to panicznie boję się wizualizacji tego, czyli filmu. W książce to odbyło się jakoś tak szybko, nie było opisane w jaki dokładnie sposób zginął Fili i Kili, i jak na to zareagował Thorin. Obawiam się, że w filmie ta scena będzie bardziej rozwinięta
