The little purple flowers at the top eventually transform into those bladder like forms that surround the fruit if the plant. A truly unique and lovely desert plant!

Thank you my friend! I often stop and admire the many interesting details of this desert shrub. It is particularly stunning when the light is coming through those paper bag like lobes.

I know! That's why I titled it Paperbag Bush! The unfortunate title bladder sage (Salazaria Mexicana) aside, the paper bag-like like lobes can come in an assortment of pale yellow, green, pink, and mauve. I am a big fan of this pretty desert shrub.
