CLICK "DOWNLOAD" TO SEE ALL THE PRETTY DETAILS!This adorable and handsome reptile was propably the first fictional character I had a crush on, though I didn't realize it at the time... Really proud of how this turned out, its always fun in studies to observe all the small tiny hue shifts that make it look so realistic. Lighting in the reference was plain diffuse light from the top as primary source, so no cast shadows, only occlusion. That's what makes the shading so super soft in this image. Then a sharp rim light from the right side to spice it all up, and you have a really really nice colour pallete to work with.

Apparently this is a render from bioware from the second mass effect game? I'm not sure, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Omg Thanks! This was a value study firstly, so I thought I might push the drawing aspects a bit more to my liking. I tend to draw my eyes at a slight angle whereas in the reference they are both pretty much facing the front.

Despite the difference in the detail, your version feels more 'real' I think the colours seem a bit more natural.
