I'm sorry I didn't comment at the time I added this gem of yours to my favorites. The reason I didn't is that I was pressed for time and your brilliant work deserves my full attention!
First, I'm not sure why you're unsatisfied with the poses. They seem perfectly appropriate to me.
Even though I'm not a bif fan of the anime style, your artwork is so good it's almost winning me over!
Everything about this drawing is just excellent but I have to single out the coloring for special praise. The colors look so bright and fresh, so much so, in fact, that this could be an ad for a detergent!
The male's uniform looks vaguely like something from a service. In fact, it reminds me of those worn by a certain class of officers in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
I understand you saw the recent Star Trek movie. I hope you enjoyed it!

Well, I guess I find them kinda... dull? Maybe a bit more 'movement' would've been more appropriate, I don't know.

Well, you're the artist, not I, but as a layman I found nothing wrong with the pose given the message you're conveying with the drawing.
True, although it would be an interesting experiment to change the original style. But like I said, your drawing won me over DESPITE the style not being a favorite of mine.

I'm glad you enjoyed it but I'd suggest you check out the original 1960s Star Trek episode "Space Seed" and the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan to see what In to Darkness ripped off, ruined--I mean "adapted."
