This is the 44th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Wreath of Barbs.Like most of my Industrial Hearts, this piece starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.
This particular piece is one of my favourites so far! It's got the original "My Heart Ticks" design, but it's been wrapped in handmade barbed wire... it cuts into the heart, leaving behind it's wounds.
And yes, the title was inspired by a Wumpscut song, which I knew one of you would ask.
The entire thing has been antiqued with black acrylics to give it an aged and used feel. As always, there is a stainless steel loop in the back which will be attached to a keyring style jump ring and strung onto a necklace.

Ok I've heard of the band Wumpscut, but I've never listened to them. I didn't want to spend 15 bucks on something that I may not end up liking. What's their music like?

Their music is odd... sort of Industrial/Synthpop and such. With strange aspects. Just listen to them on youtube and you don't have to spend any money until you know you like them! That's what I do.

I kinda like Wumpscut. They're a lil darker than most of the music I listen to but es no problem.

Yeah, the picture doesn't do it justice, namely because pictures are not seen in 3d. Up close, it's great... but I didn't have any copper or brass wire, either.

Actually, this is a smaller gauge wire so I was able to do all the work with my fingers! Now, if I tried to do it with the 20 gauge stainless steel wire I have for making the loops in the top of my jewellery, I would have killed myself! That stuff is HARD to bend!
