A fun little idea I've had in my head for a while! A simple open species called Orites.
If you make one, you must credit me for the species. Feel free to tag me, I'd love to see them!

Orites are magical, shape-shifting creatures created by combing ores and magic.

Biology:
Orites can be composed of any mineral, gem, crystal, metal, etc! They have two primary forms which they can switch between at will, although holding their Imp form takes more magic. When they sleep, they retract to just their head stone, and often sleep in caves to blend in. Inside their mouths is a molten version of whatever their mineral is, which they use to consume more of that mineral to grow more powerful.
Their size ranges anywhere from a worm to a dragon, depending on the amount of magic they have and the ores they have consumed.

Magic:
Orites have different type of magics depending on their mineral, it can elemental or other such types of magic. They can cast spells of many different varieties. All of them levitate.

Society:
They communicate telepathically with all other creatures. They only need rocks and minerals to survive, so consuming organic creatures is considered taboo - as is consuming other Orites. However these do make them more powerful. Orites will often serve or worship more powerful orites - generally, the more limbs and parts an Orite has, the more powerful.

FAQ:
Q: Can I make my own? Can I make adopts?
A: Yes! They are an open species, so you can make as many as you want and keep them, sell them, trade them, etc.

Q: Is there a group?
A: Not yet, I'll make one if there is popular demand for one!

Q: Can they have horns / wings / etc?
A: Yes! As long as they're made from whatever ore makes up the rest of their body!

Q: Can mine be made up of multiple ores? Do they have to be real minerals?
A: Yes, it can be composed of multiple ores, but that will mean the Orite is more unstable. And no, it can be any random or made up gem you want!
