Description Alternate Names: N/A
Latin Name: Terrorarboreus danielcoheni

It may have a silly name, but the Swingdingle definitely has the potential to be dangerous. It likes to lurk in trees, and is almost indistinguishable from the branches. When people pass underneath it, it likes to reach down and snatch the hat from their head and fling it off into the bushes or similar. Most agree it is just being mischievous, but one never knows -- maybe it was aiming for your head and just got your hat instead. Either way, the Swingdingle is said to very hard to spot and that it looks like branches and wood, and that it has long limbs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Its scant description put me in mind of some kind of giant walking stick bug (phasmid), so that's what I did with my rendition, giving it super long limbs that end in praying mantis-like claws. Personally, I think the Swingdingle's behavior is hunting behavior and that it waits for prey to walk underneath and then slashes downwards at the head with its claws. If you're not wearing a hat, it cuts into your head and then drags you upwards into the trees (maybe it's not always a Hide-Behind that got the missing loggers...) but if you are wearing a hat, it just gets the material and then flings it away in thwarted ire.
