The ending was in the middle for me. I missed having my Umbreon for more battles because he evolved by the time I was getting ready to take on Nixtorm and Dragnor. On the other hand, the mini-stories fleshed out a lot of characters personalitys, which made me like characters such as Kotaro and Mitsuhide much more

Good news: there IS a second storyline where you play as the hero.
Bad news: IT'S AN ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL PHANTASM STAGE UNLOCKABLE ONLY BY COMPLETING EVERY OTHER WARLORD'S STORYLINE.

Yeah, I found the ending bitter sweet. Sweet because I found it interesting to play as other Warlords and have different objectives and bitter because of the very reason you say there: you work hard to get your army to where it is and it's taken from you. At least Oichi looks so happy about it!

My gosh, I hate beating the game. I lost my Flareon, Glaceon, Umbreon, Charizard, and Zoroark. AND ALL SO I COULD PLAY FROM AN NPC'S POINT OF VIEW.

lol i was pissed off too but i was glad you could play as your main character again in the last one XD and its funny how in some stories your character will actually be in one too XD also yay someone else who picked glaceon to murder all the dragon types XD

Why?! Why would they do this?!! Imagine if they did the same after you beat the Elite 4 in the regular Pokemon-games.

We delete everything you did, so you can play a shorter alternate version of what happened with Misty as the hero and how Bill got his PokΓ©mon and how Gary's sister and Gary had a rivalry as children and ... *100 riveting settings later* ... and how that person who gave you a potion got that potion in the first place.
And then and only then can you once more play your actual character.

IT DOES. And you get some kind of epilogue AFTER you finish playing the mini-episodes.

So wait, you lose your "party" basically after the game ends and then you have to play some other random thing?

You play some smaller adventures as almost any NPC in the game, who at least get to keep their PokΓ©mon (only those get reset to a specific level each time you start a new mini-adventure).

Sadly, you SHOULD finish the game, because you cannot even play the complete game with all its option in the main campaign.
