this is just a very lovely piece. it seems very obvious of me to even mention witkin, but the comparison applies to an extent. i like the ambiguity as well.
for me, this is next to perfect.

Irony.
The Succubus and late 18th century preoccupations with the pacifying of men's nocturnal doting on carnal/supposedly immoral practices. Repression and the overwhelming desire to delve head long into to the very depths or moral debauchery to distance yourself from the public visage of respectability...Depicted by a women cut off at the waste?
Where would one direct ones passion if the normal course of what's occurs behind closed doors were diverted through necessity or circumstance?
Exactly where you wish.
Normalcy for the larger part is defined by apathy.

I've developed a recent fascination with Witkin, someine else has allready mentioned him, but this feels similar. With a softer touch... very well executed.

This looks quite beautyful. You may want to become more aware of your composition. The window to the right is ofcourse good to break the symmetry that there is, but it has become so heavy that it leads away from the girl, and I am not sure if that is what you want? I like the window in itself, but then you need a different composition if you want that in. You'd have to tell me more about the succumbus? A female demon visiting men in their sleep, having intercourse with them after which they never awake?

Absolutely fantastic work moon! Personally, I think this has got to be your best manip yet! You've seemlessly blended all of the elements and have incorporated wonderful textures/type with such attention to detail. The antiquated look and feel is right on target, creating a hauntingly beautiful piece. Oh so very Witkin!
Don't find the wings to be cliché at all⦠I mean, it is called "The Succubus."
+faves!

This looks realler than real can be.... the scratches on the picture, the color, the pose...I can't believe someone did this....even the uneven bars in the window...
adding this to my fav list

Fabulous, really. Love the sepia and the connotations of seperation through promiscuity. Think the wings may be a little cliche, but otherwise this is beautiful.
