The BG took FOREVER. I fought with it so much but I love how it turned out. I know this isn't the order they were walking in. I just started sketching and didn't stop lol

I love how everytime I draw Gianna he looks more and more like a string bean. He used to be so majestic but now... e_e

Abram | Bondmate

Abram’s eyes swept across his beautiful land, and he found he could not shake the pervasive feeling that this was not where he was supposed to be. It was an uncomfortable notion, that sat heavy and cold in his gut while simultaneously thrumming unease through his nerves, with the end result that Abram found himself constantly pulled between heavy doubt and anxious hyper awareness. If Yeshua were here, he would blame it stolidly on Abram’s recent re-introduction to the War Forged herd, a trip that “would imbalance any sane equine”, to use the disgruntled stallion’s own words. But Yeshua was not here, and Abram knew that his unease stemmed not from the War Forged herd, but from his own. The paint lifted his head, nostrils flaring wide as he breathed in the hot, dry air of mid-day, and he found no pleasure in its familiar, rich scent, nor on the fierce beauty of the northern Sedo landscape. It was not the landscape that was diminished, of course, not truly. It was the essence of it, the herd… himself.

Abram’s brows drew together as his stomach gave an uncomfortable twinge. What we do, we do for the good of the herd, he reminded himself robustly, shaking his mane as if to emphasize the point. His eyes cut to the side, taking in the forms of his traveling companions, and snagging uncomfortably on Iscah. The Aodhian ambassador to his herd. He had had some dealings with her in the past, of course, and liked her well enough (though she was prone to vapid chattering but then, Aodhdian) but the new decree from Aodh had changed the course of the relationship dramatically.

It was one thing to make small talk with someone who had dealings with slaves. It was quite another to suddenly find yourself supplying them.

Abram realized he was staring at the painted mare, and he cleared his throat.

“Are you sure you would not like to go back to the camp?” He asked Iscah politely. “Even as far north as we currently are, the heat can be very intense.” It was not a lie; though his motives for wishing to be away from this distasteful patrol were varied, he did worry that the unicorn might over-extend herself in the heat of day, something even Seroran-borns had to be wary of. Alya’s land was not for the weak or foolish.

Gianna | Emissary

The dark roan replayed the thought endlessly in his head. His long, slender visage remained deadpan but his thoughts battled each other. Gianna was always vastly more perceptive compared to other equine, this situation being no different. Despite the occasional breeze that broke the sweltering heat, the tension in the air was so thick one could cut it like a hot knife to butter. Listen. That's all the dark marwari could do. Wait to figure each's opinion on the matter at hand, then perhaps Gianna could speak if need be. He kept pace just behind the leads, Abram and Iscah, yet also just in front of 'bloody mouth' and 'little yellow one'. Gianna never formally met any of these horses, but through careful observation and questioning acquaintances before this mission, he already knew the names of the important ones. Abram, the high Sultan's steadfast bondmate (as they call the leader's mate in Sedo). Then Iscah, the precious Emissary from Aodh, whose mother held a horrid reputation back home in Talori. Getting information on these higher ranking officials had been a rather easy task. A whisper here and there. Unfortunately, it was the commoners of this herd that are harder to learn about beforehand. It's difficult to get details on someone if one doesn't even know they exist.

The suns rays were broken when a light gust passed by, tiny beads of sweat fell from Gianna's form because of the winds. Still though, he kept his usual upright, graceful posture in spite of the dreadful climate. Gianna mindlessly let his body move itself. The burning sands giving way with each delicate step. This roan was busy with more important matters. Eavesdropping on the conversations of the group or more correctly each individual's tone of voice. He looked for the emotion hidden in each syllable. Holding on to this, perhaps precious, information. But the words repeated in the back of his buzzing mind.

Hm. This was a reluctant agreement between Serora and Aodh, more accurately not Talori. Truthfully, being the Emissary from Talori, Gianna's opinion mattered little on this political deal. So long as he kept his herd in good relations with Serora then all was fine. The roan was prepared to do whatever the horses of Sedo needed him to, to keep the fragmented peace between this herd and his, for the goddess Cascade and his fellow herdmates but especially for his parents. He'll keep them safe.
