Great art is all about moving the observer in some way, touching their hearts, conveying and inspiring any combination of mood, emotion, story, wonder, beauty/ugliness, message, idea, and thought.
This piece does a great job of telling a story, and of conveying mood and emotion. Each frame has good photographic values.
I really like this.

I'm glad you appreciate this photo. I'm fairly sure it's my favorite piece that I've done to date.

What you said in comments also hit home. I was born with Autism Spectrum Disorders, with sensory integration Disfunction and a slew of other nasties. I cannot even see details in my mind, like the faces of people, or the detail of furniture, just general shapes. I also developed arthritis at around 12 years old, which has now crippled me, a few physical abnormalities, and had to grow up gay in a most unfriendly of time and atmosphere.
But as you say, there is a choice. We are the sum of our choices, like the choice of looking at the sky and see blue with some clouds, or clouds with some blue. When faced with adversity, it takes a basic courage to go on. There is a choice to move on, stagnate, or die. Recognizing our choices and consciously making choices is the difference between sleepwalking through life, or actually living life to its fullest.
