▬ ho ly shit. this took me AGES. like, for real. but it was like, tons of fun and im proud of the result. <3 so this is a card of my Inquisitor Selenhyn C: ! I find the ideas of picturing characters as typical tarot cards absolutely brilliant, so I wanted to try it with my own Inquisitor OC. The card itself is inspired by 'The Star', and a little by 'The Moon', because I think the traits associated with The Star fit Selenhyn perfectly (optimism, renewal, kindess, hope, faith, etc...) and she, as a whole, is inspired by the moon, the stars, the night sky, winter, etc. ('Sélène' comes from the greek goddess of the moon, and I gave Selenhyn 'typical' moon-associated traits such as pale skin, white eyelashes, etc). The card represents her as she was from the day she received the mark to later on in the game, it's her 'main' card. I plan on doing 2 more: a romance one (to match Solas' romance card) and a post-game/post-defeat of Corypheus one, because that's precisely when Selenhyn shifted to a less hopeful, more serious and (way) more mature Inquisitor.

I was hesitating a bit on faving your picture or not because I personally don't quite like the hair... but the description of your Inquisitor's personality, matched with the color palette convinced me.

Oh, don't get me wrong; your picture is wonderful and the technique is excellent. It's just that I don't like the hairstyle itself (that you can choose at the character creation too).

This is fantastic!
I especially love the light colours you used, it makes her appear ethereal and more powerful.
Also, perhaps a clue to her personality? Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it!

It is definitely a clue to her personality! Selenhyn is a calm, hopeful, kind person, at the beginning of the game she is very insecure and doesn't feel like she can help the people as much as everyone expects her to.

Aw she sounds cool! Sometimes Selenhyn makes some sarcastic comments, she has a pretty great sense of humor... but overall she is just a poor lost child who is expected to save the world and has no clue how to do so XD

They have to, its good that Bioware allows you to romance a elven god. I thought that was pretty awesome! I also like the concept that Lavellan, an elf sworn to protect her clan and everyone else from Fen'harel ends up falling in love with him, its great!
But the angst was too much to bear! I really just want them to have a happy ending but I fear it will be like the Morrigan romance where they can never be with each other for too long.

Ugh, I hate to say it but I think you are right.
A small, sadistic side of me actually likes that idea (I love angst, its sad I know!) but at the same time I would not be able to cope either! I think I would be more upset if Solas died to be honest.
Though I don't want him to be upset over Lavellan's death either! Argh!!! That end cutscene was just Bioware kicking us while we're down. They are so evil sometimes!
I don't have good feelings about the DLC either, if it involves Solas it will most likely end in tragedy for sure. But I would just be happy if they met once again and talked it out, maybe he even admits to who he is and Lavellan has the choice of what she will do in the end like maybe go with him on his little adventure! I have serious doubts about that idea but I can dream!
I LOVE how Bioware did the romance, one of my favourite scenes has to be their first kiss. I mean it was so awkward and so realistic. I was embarrassed with Lavellan when Solas didn't return the kiss at first but I have to admit I fangirled quite a lot when they started kissing. "the wake up" line was funny too, I loved how it was in the fade (I called it! I told someone that there would be a romance scene in the fade, I mean there had to be its Solas we're talking about here, but I was so happy when it happened!)
It is definatly an original romance and I wish there had been more of it. We did get a lot but I wish they had done even more scenes for it as it is quite an important romance. Just to have the option of romancing a god is crazy!
I think a tragedy would fit that romance though, it just gives that feeling right from the start. His reluctance, her eagerness, the fact he is immortal and gets into trouble all the time. I even think Lavellan would probably still love him if he told her he was Fen'haral...that would never end well.
Anyhoo, forgive my rambling. I love talking about Solavellan!

argh same here, I mean whatever happens I'm gonna cry like a baby, whenever something cute/surprising/cool/sad/terrifying happens, I start panicking and I cry xD but still, part of me want this to end badly... But I don't know which one of them I'd rather see die, I mean I don't want my fricking OC to be killed, but I don't want Solas to die either, he's such an interesting character Dx
What would be cool is a multiple choice ending... with like 2-3 different choices, where you can, idk, forgive Solas and follow him and do whatever he wants and maybe die together or something angsty and horribly sad like that, or you could forgive him but still disapproves of his choices and his actions and have a boss battle against him (ohmygod that would be so fucking sad hhhh) and you have to kill him... DX
I mean despite the fact that all Lavellan Inquisitors nearly have the same background and all that stuff, people can play them very differently, and it would be more realistic for some very angry, very vengeful Lavellans not to forgive Solas or not to help him with his future plans. While some others would play their Lavellan nice and sad and they would comply to whatever Solas wants and follow him till the end. I mean DA:I is really that kind of game I like, where you have to take important choices that can literally change a whole part of the story, so that would be cool if it happened that way IMO...
I loved the scene where he asks to remove the valassin! I really didn't expect a simple face tattoo to have that much... signification. Just like my Inquisitor I thought it was just a simple tattoo... I was kinda reluctant to give in and let him remove it but I thought about it for a few minutes and realized it would be important for her character development, having that tattoo removed forever, being forever reminded that Solas left her right after telling her she's beautiful and all that stuff. That moment was really beautiful, I was squealing in front of my computer during the whole scene XD
I agree, it would be more realistic! But IDK, I have a bad feeling, I definitely think that the Inquisitor will be the one dying, or maybe Solas will die with her... I mean even for the sake of the whole DA series, if they do a DA 4 they can't just let the random Inquisitor character rule over Thedas without ever seeing her in game, because she was a character made by the player from a previous game...
Oh don't be sorry, I love talking about them too xD goddd I want that DLC so badly. but at the same time I'm like hell no I don't want that DLC because it's gonna be sad and angsty and somebody will definitely die and I'll regret wishing for that DLC to be released... ;_;

I'm so glad that no one died in that damn game or it would of been the end of me and I'm glad the Inquisitor didn't die in the DLC either. Did you play it?
I really wish Solas would appear though just for some closure for Lavellan. I imagine he will make some sort of appearance in DA4 or 5 (if it gets that far) and I sincerely hope he does not become the bad guy considering he basically consumed Mythal...which means he might be gaining power/memories and may get up to his old tricks...how interesting would that be. For Fen'harel to meet Lavellan again...that would be sad...but I do believe that he did love her.
I totally agree with that, I would of liked to of seen Lavellan skip off into the sunset with Solas. It was pretty crap for Solasmancers when it was their first playthrough to be standing at that window looking out at the end with no one with them. Luckily, this time I'm romancing Sera with my Qunari so at least she won't be alone at the end of the game. I did love how similar the ending of Inquisition was to DAO, it really did make me nostalgic as I loved the ending of DAO when you could speak to all your companions for the last time, it was adorable!
Ahh my god I hope there will never be a boss battle between Solas and the Inquisitor that would be too sad and I could not finish the game!
I do love how the last romance scene with Solas can end in different ways though I do wish that I had kept my Valislin because I don't think he really disapproves either way. Though the angry ending does make me laugh, its so badass but my Lavellen is too calm to be like that. I also especially love that scene when Lavellan (or any Inquisitor) can punch him...I saw it on YouTube and I couldn't stop laughing for ages. I do love his character to pieces but he can be a bit of a douche.
Speaking of douches (jokes) David Gaider has left the writing!!! Though he is working on a "secret project" I'm still pretty sad about that. Though Solas' writer is taking over so it will hopefully just get better! Perhaps DA needs a new writers perspective. Though it was the same with Inon Zur being replaced by Trevor Morris for the music, I was apprehensive about it at first but when I heard the music, I was like WOW! What did you think about the music?
Haha, awww! I was squealing a lot at all the Solas romance scenes but I squealed the most at the first kiss scene. It was so perfect and all the romances were so individual (and angsty!) They've completely taken big steps with the romance. Bioware have come so far with their romances. Especially, from Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights when the only form of romance was conversations and written actions. Now look at it! It's crazy. But the valislin scene was very beautiful, I agree!
That's true though, we have the Hero of Ferelden (potentially) ruing over Ferelden with Ali and Hawke controlling other places (unless they're dead....*cries*) Urgh, I had to kill Ali in the end because I couldn't face having Anders and Varric not having Hawke.
Though, the Divine (technically) rules Thedas or most of it and we have kings and queens in all the other countries. I have a feeling that the Inquisitor may fall from grace at some point like most of the heroes of DA tend to do, which is a shame but I suppose once a crisis is over, the heroes tend to be forgotten until another crisis pops up. I am curious to see what Hawke, HOF and all the Wardens are doing. I wonder if that's what DA4 will be about though we have a long wait for that!
Haha, yeah I do enjoy rambling a lot but its nice to discuss theories and general fangirling with other fans as I do not know many people in my area that play Dragon Age!
Thankfully for us, the DLC was not too angsty though poor last Inquisitor! Also, sorry for the late reply! :')
