Oh hay it's a pokemon thingie. I bet nobody I know has done one of these in a while.
... Sorry. >_>
Anyway, this is Rook. She's a lucario blessed by Reshiram and, as a result, given a fraction of his bower and his form. She's a character I'm playing for an RP I'm participating in. Really looking forward to playing her, and it's been fantastic seeing all the art for the other characters in it. :>
Revised from an older pic of a similar character concept, with a bit of tweeking here and there to streamline the design a little more. Probably needs a little more, but I'm satisfied for the moment.

You know, I wasn't thinking of a marble fox when I was colouring her (If anything, the markings on her face reminded me a little of a badger XD) but I can see it now that you've pointed it out. :>

This is a really interesting idea. The black and white contrast each other really well. I bet the feather hands can be awkward to use at times. hehe.

Hehe, unseen is the paws underneath those big wings, which would have been a little awkward to add in... Which only make things marginally less awkward, I admit. Maybe Rook just stares at others until they use their wonderful opposable thumb thingies.

Speaking of which, a quick question I've been meaning to ask. Can a legendary take back the power they've given to these champions if they so wished?

Uh, I don't know. I don't see why not. They gave it, why shouldn't they take it away? Could become a plot device, actually. Some Champions are sent at the threat of losing their power, for example.

Makes sense to me, and that could be an interesting dilemma, gotta say. Another thought is, what if a side attempts to kidnap a legendary in an effort to prevent such a situation from occurring? Or to try and force this legendary to mass-produce champions to aid their side in the war/force them to take back powers they've given to the other side? *Ponders*
I mean, it's probably very unlikely that they'd be able to hold what is essentially a god for very long, but an interesting thought nonetheless.

Ooooh, that's an interesting idea. Giratina might try to mass produce Champions, or have those Legends that agree with him start blessing multiple champions that are already blessed, maybe? Try to produce super champions? That could be a nifty plot device, I suppose. Either way, it's a cool idea.

ooh, I can see those Super-Champions going horribly, horribly wrong too. Twisted and insane jsut from the sheer amount of foreign energy coursing through their bodies, although a slow process to make it fair/intriguing.

But, if you want my advice on your characters... don't worry about what anyone else is doing with their designs. Create your characters for *you*, not to try and measure them up to some imaginary standard. Ultimately, this art is unimportant, it's the character itself that matters. And besides, I liked your characters. :>

Okay, so here's what I ended up doing for a lot of my designs that haven't yet been posted anywhere, and what I've noticed from my favourite designs done by the other artists: Try to keep it as close to the base pokemon as you can. You're not looking to make a complete hybrid here, what you want is a pokemon with a few extra features as to hint to their patronage.
As an example, let's pick a completely random pokemon and corresponding legendary: Empoleon and Tornados (Using Therian form for this example.)
Take a look at the most notable features on your legendary. In the case of our random pick, I'd have to say that the most striking figures are his pointed eyebrows, his cloud mane of hair, and his long tail. From there, see if they'd match up well with your base pokemon. Don't eb afraid to mix and match insignificant small details to try and achieve a good-looking effect, but keep in mind that above goal. Enhance your base pokemon with borrowed features, don't attempt to blend them together.

I just feel all depressed about mine really, like im at the bottom of the pile with my designs again
I mean so many peoples are so much more better than mine and mine are just so ugly and uncreative. It doesn't help me feel useful at all
I dunno I think im just going to have to clear all my characters and start over or just make new designs, it all ties down the the 'useless waste of space' depression
I feel like such a drama hog starting all this to.
