Description So, =Teague-Drydan came down to Texas to do several things and one of them was to meet me. I tried to show her as good a time as I could - don't know that I was all that successful, but, I did what I could.

Part of the trips festivities included going to Medieval Times in Dallas Texas. Though the Falconer was a turd and a half, the rest of the event as great in my opinion. Yes, yes, I know it is all carefully choreographed and the same color night wins and blah blah blah, to me, it's all about the horses and the birds anyway.

Well, we couldn't get much better seats than what we got (front row), and I attempted to do some photography there. Many of them did not turn out, but this one in it's original state had promises of being something good, so after several hours of tweaking and masking, and correcting, etc... this is what came out.

I am proud of it, but do welcome constructive criticisim, as I know I am not an expert at Photoshop yet.

All I did really was crop, and adjust the colors around to bring out the horse and the chancellor, and things like that... no real manipulation here.

This is the High Chancellor character on a Friesian (or Frisian depending on where you are from) which was absolutely gorgeous. (read about the breed on wikipedia - [link] ) I know the barding and costumes are not perfectly period, but they are made to look good under the strobe lights and in the arena setting.

Not that anyone would want to, but the next bit is just to cover my butt, and to be perfectly clear.

This is not stock. This is not in the public domain. You want this shot, then go buy a ticket to the Dallas Medieval Times, sit at Table 3 for the Yellow Knight, set your camera up, pray you get the exact moment I did when he is talking to Black and White Knight's section during the introductions. Then use Photoshop CS4 to make the adjustments.

Otherwise, oogle, critique (constructively), and enjoy. I do hope you like it.

when we were looking at the horses in their stalls the Frisian was tied up. but it is still my favorite horse breed.

Well the original shot isn't this good... read the description and there is a link to the original. This is the tweaked version... Thank you though, because coming from you, that is one heck of a compliment.

it's impressive hw you managed to get rid of that big logo thing from the shot - it's always a pain when product branding gets applied mid show...

seriously-even the original is very good - knowing what shows are like in this sort of arena, getting anything is amazing!!

And that was a neat return of compliment..

recategorized.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. Didn't even think of Photojournalism because it wasn't for a news story type thing...
