Description This was one of my first real adventures into North Dakota after a year of living here.

Beautiful Hallson Church

The Icelandic State Park is 912 acres of adventure. This park included some really awesome finds each as Akra Hall, Hallson Church, Cranley School and Gunlogson Homestead.

My adventure here was a bit cut short due to the weather and it being torando season I still got to get in some amazing pictures before having to run for the hills.

Nice shot, Kenni.  Would you happen to know why it's called Icelandic Park?  Is it thought to be a place where Vikings settled?

The reason why it is called hte Icelandic Park is because of the type of settlers that moved into the Dakota Territory. The Norwegians and German people moved into the upper part into the Dakota Territory and Canada during the trading of fur days.
