Description Title:  Blue Dawn Part1
Universe:  Mass Effect
Timeline:  between games 1-2
Characters: Jack Barrowman (OC), Sato (OC), Halx (OC), Aria, Anto

"I Got started dealing Hallex back on Ilium when it first started coming to prominence.   I built a fairly sizeable operation there but I'm looking to broaden my horizons past the Terminus, if you catch my drift. "

"And where does he come into all of this," Halx Tyzourus, stared intently at the Salarian fidgeting in his seat.

"Sato, here is my chief Chemist he's responsible for overseeing the formulas used in our production lines and while I can tell you enough about the product…."  Jack paused for a moment leaving the comment in the air before continuing "… Sato here can present our product and can answer any detailed questions you have," Jack left that last line with a charming smile, and after a few seconds Sato began.

"Well as you well know Hallex is a neural stimulant, much like the human drug Ecstasy although that went the way of the Rachni about a century ago.  It causes in its mildest form short term hallucinations, euphoria, and enough energy that it'll feel like you've just taken a straight shot of epinephrine.  Its worst side effects are dehydration and in the most extreme circumstances nightmarish hallucinations that can result in severe trauma and sometimes death, although this is only the case with extreme Overdose.  As you can see…."

Halx raised a three fingered hand to stop the rapid babbling spouting from the Salarian's mouth.  He looked towards Jack "Ok, ok…. If you would just forward me a report on what your current production numbers are and we'll set up a meeting for the first shipment.  Say one week at Warehouse 12 in the Kima District, and just the two of you ok no need for extra security."  Halx left that last comment as a friendly request but Jack knew that it was a subtle threat, a "you bring anyone and your dead," hung in between those words.

"Ok fine you've got a deal," Jack leaned in to shake the Turian's hand.  It was cool and rough and when Jack looked into Halx's eyes he saw the confidence of a man who had earned every bit of his respect with blood.  He whispered in Halx's ear "Now we have a deal but if you want to tail me you're going to have to hire better people."  His face was set in stone as he pulled away from Halx his eyes fixed firmly on the Turian's.  "Also I have to insist that you take this bag that Sato is holding I'm sure you'll find that it filled with a few little surprises, most of them pleasant.  Jack leaned back in his seat and rested his hands on his lap looking to any onlooker nonchalant but his ice blue eyes had taken on a deadened glint and he saw the Turian hesitate a bit before taking the bag and rising to leave.  "Goodbye Halx, I hope this partnership will be very profitable."

Once Halx walked away Jack turned to Sato, "and you next time we go to a meeting lose the tail or don't show.  The next time I see you he better be gone."
"Who's the tail?"

"At your 9, Turian, Twenxos Colony facial markings, blue trousers, yellow and black striped jacket."

Commander Jack Barrowman, former Commander that is, rose and left the table he was inconspicuous by human standards his light brown hair was littered with specks of red and blonde, due to a combination of recessive genes in his ancestry that had all decided to crop up at once, and cut short but not into any recognizable military style.  He had several days' worth of red and brown scruff obscuring his strong jaw line.  His cold Ice Blue eyes scanned the area around him and it would take one good look to now that those eyes hadn't seen a restful night in years.  He wore a long Jacket and loose fitting trousers that helped to obscure his 5'10" height and lean muscled physique, making him appear slightly shorter and less powerful in the oversized clothes.  He walked with a slight limp from a nagging knee injury and although he was nearing the age of 30 he still retained a youthful appearance or he would have if he ate a little more to fill in his cheeks and smiled a bit.

Jack set off from the cafe and made his way through the winding corridors of Little Palaven towards Tier 3 and the Temple District, he had some business to take care of before his meeting.

The Temple District held two venues of interest to Jack.  One was his apartment, the second was Afterlife.  The nightclub was Omega's seat of power and at its center stood The Pirate Queen Aria T'Loak, Omega's de-facto ruler.  She was a former commando, mercenary, pirate, and who knows what else in her long life; but all that mattered was that she had been ruler of Omega for over two hundred years and the station operated by one rule "Nobody Fucks with Aria."  Not even the major gangs that controlled the districts, the Blue Suns, Blood Pack, and Eclipse, dared to cross her and it was considered good business to let her know when a deal was about to go down.

Jack Barrowman made his way towards Afterlife.   He approached the Elcor security guard, and with a 100 credits and the message that he had some news for Aria, he was let in immediately.  Jack had been a regular at Afterlife since he had come on station.  He stopped at one of the bars and picked up a tonic water, his former career had taught him that it wasn't wise to get drunk on the job, but acting like it was likely to get you underestimated.  He ambled up to Anto, one of Aria's two lieutenants; he affected a meandering limp dragging his left leg slightly behind the left and slouched a bit.  To anyone else in the club it would look like he was just another drunk.

"Anto," Jack remarked with a sly grin.

I couldn't get past your OC's name. It kept making me think you were talking about Jack, the character from ME2. Then I was confused because in combination with the surname, he then abruptly reminded me of Jack Harkness from Dr Who/Torchwood who is played by John Barrowman.

I also got the impression that you were trying to somewhat match your description of your OC to that of the real John Barrowman as well, would I be right?

Didn't mean for the description to match John Barrowman at all but the name is a mash up of the character and actor's names. Just a little tribute to two of my favorite shows. and sorry for the confusion, it's not a Doctor Who/Torchwood/ME crossover although I'm sure something like that could be pulled off since BW has a habit of putting boxes that look like the Tardis in their games I hope you liked the beginning though other than that
