It has officially been six months since subjects 46, 53, and 58 were exposed to NEXT Alpha 3.4, which management has chosen as the standard offering within its planned range of boutique HERS virus-based products. Of course, NEXT Alpha 3.4 isn't the official name. I believe the latest title from marketing is "Female Evolution," though only last week the favorite among the higher ups was "The Goddess Treatment." Either way, the project is running full steam ahead, and those of us who have expressed our concerns continue to be ignored or silenced.

While I know that what I am about to write does no favors to my future career in this company, I feel ethically obligated to voice my strong objections to this project. I have seen first-hand the effects that this treatment causes. The proposed precautions, like running background checks and requiring psychological evaluations before approving women for the treatment, do nothing to address the core issue. This group of subjects is a perfect example. All of them were respectable, contributing members of society prior to the treatment. Helen, who is now the largest amongst the three, was a stay-at-home mother. The youngest, Tiffany, was studying political science in university and had a 3.8 GPA. Alicia was newly married and was a successful defense lawyer in the city. Now, all three subjects spend their time in the shared living space offered by the company trying on clothes, comparing their bodies, eating vast quantities of food, and having sex. Hunger and arousal seem to be persistent, and they constantly leer at one another and at those around them, not to mention the amount of time they spend narcissistically admiring their own bodies in the mirror. Helen sees her family once, sometimes twice a week, and while she is loving towards her adult children, she is more reserved towards her husband and has said in private that she feels that she has "outgrown" him. Instead, Helen has entered into a romantic relationship with Tiffany, who, somewhat awkwardly, was once university classmates with Helen's daughter. Tiffany has abandoned her ambitions to earn a college degree, and instead makes an extremely lucrative living by maintaining a presence on social media and endorsing cosmetics and clothing. Alicia is still in a romantic relationship with her husband, but, after informing him that he is incapable of satisfying her, she has pressured him into an "open relationship," though in truth this arrangement means that Alicia has as much sex with Helen and Tiffany as she likes, while her husband has remained completely devoted to her.

Forgive me if this brief account of these women's lives does not sufficiently convey just how entitled and self-centered they have become. Simply walking down the street, an activity I have coached them on for months, regularly sees them carelessly knocking down poles, accidentally stepping on people's bicycles and cars, and nearly crushing those around them. I reprimanded Alicia for what must have been the twentieth time this afternoon for stepping dangerously close to where I was standing, but my increasingly frustrated outbursts barely seem to reach her ears. Worse, I am all but certain that they resent me, and that they view me as some kind of small, annoying little formality that will disappear from their lives in a matter of days. Of course, they're right. Management will almost certainly ignore all of my reports, and will declare these women's reintegration into society a complete success. If this treatment can cause such radical behavioral changes in previously upstanding members of society, I cannot stress enough how detrimental it will be to society at large once it is released on the market.
