But I, Myrddin Emrys, know all the lost and hidden tales for I was with him from the beginning. And I stood beside him on his darkest day."

One year after... the end of Merlin BBC and I'm still not over it.
One year after... and I don't know if I ever will be.
One year after... the death of my most beloved and over many, many years, in countless novels and tales and other movies, adored character in this particular series.
One year after... and I still cry.

Will it ever get better? Dunno...

So this piece of art, finished exactly one year after the desastrous end of the BBC series Merlin, is nonetheless the first portrait of Arthur Pendragon, played by Mr Handsome Bradley James , I'm content with. Rly. How many portraits have I created of him in 2012? I dunno exactly, but it had to pass nearly one year, before I'm now fully content with myself drawing such perfection like him. Okay... I'm not quite happy with the way the armour turned out to look this time... But I still love the chainmail. Well, the look of it. NOT DRAWING IT! Certainly not... Spend hours and hours to draw all the little segments of it and my hand started hurting. I'm not telling you lies. But I think I improved a bit with the props. Face and neck not too long, eyes of the same size this time. I'm happy with that! Although I'm still far from perfect, still practicing, I'm content.

And why did I have to do it at all? (Besides the practice.) A portrait? AGAIN?!
Well...

I still love him. Ever will. That alone is reason enough for me. His death was one of the most moving, gripping things I've ever seen in TV. I'll never forget his last words and Merlin's desperate cry after that.
...
Still a blade in my heart. Still bleeding from this wound.
But I thought, after all these month mourning his death, I have to try again. I have to DRAW again. Thought I'll never do it again.
But VOILÀ: Here it is. My new/old Fanart. (Old, because the sketch was finished over nine month ago or so... >.<)

And now, I'm gonna watch this funny, heartbreaking, loveable show again and again on DVD. You bet that. (But I think I'll avoid watching the last episodes for a while... >.<)
Once and future.
Always and forever.

And well, I hope that Mr James will move his nice ass in the near future to do something new at least. I hope so much...
