This is for my cousin. The first of a few paintings I'm doing for my family.I wanted to do some art that did Elvis justice. However, the more I tried to make it look like Elvis, the less it looked like Elvis.Eventually I was sort of like "I'll try to convey an emotion instead of trying to translate what I see in old photos."
I attempted to convey the emotions I feel when thinking about Elvis and his music through his pose, the application of brush strokes and the use of color.
Total time, about a day
edit: Oh, everything I know about Elvis, I know thanks to Lilo and Stitch. Is that sad?

I love it... you did a great job conveying the true spirit of Elvis. He not only loved to sing but to dance as well. I also love the beautiful mix and blend of colours you chose.
I'm curious, what did you use to create this painting?
Btw, no it is not sad that you learned everything you know about Elvis from Lilo and Stitch... it's actually pretty sweet.

Hey man that came out really damn good, no one expects you to know everything about Elvis. Of course the man was famous but doesn't mean you have to be a fan, you got his hips right and that look on his face would make any girl from the 50's scream out there heart.
