Oh-ho! You were thinking my first piece in a while would be Pokemon, huh? (a month, in fact; what is wrong with me? Sheesh!) Wrong-o!Yanyan, a newer character from Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. The bestest Monkey Ball games are 1 & 2, of course (we won't speak of Adventure), but whatever. I drew her 'cause she's cute!
I like that ring-ed tail and her wacky hairdo. Aiai's usually my monkey-of-choice, but maybe I'll have to rethink that, 'cause Yanyan amuses me.This was just a quick sort of warm-up doodle... that I spent longer than intended on. Like an hour-and-a-half. Oops.
openCanvas 4 (whyyy did I use watercolor? I can't use that to save my life!) with touchups in Photoshop Elements. Gosh darnit I need to get, y'know, Photoshop Photoshop, and not the version that came with my tablet. Comments are appreciated, etc etc, enjoy!
Did you know I'm a Monkey Ball fanatic? 2's my favorite; I've even suffered through Master Mode (darn level 10!).

I love her carefree expression and body language as she's rolling around.
Though you sound like it was frustrating to color it however you did, I think it paid off cause I like the softer look of the colors and shadings and whatnot.
