Description Ah, Ranma.

I consider this my gateway into the Anime world, back when I first got into it in the late 90s early 00s (I can't remember which). Of course I'd watched Pokemon and Digimon as well as others, but Ranma was the first one that I knew was "anime".

Oh the genderbending fun.

I felt like drawing him/her/them in a style somewhat closer to modern anime, but it's a lot harder to capture the spirit of the character, I think...

Strangely, I don't think I've ever had an attraction to female Ranma (and I don't tend to worry too much about actual gender when it comes to cute girls in anime, as my sister can attest). I mean, I guess I could see why others would call her cute, but...

Now, Yoiko on the other hand, with her knee socks, fang, and pigtails and... wait... um--

Saotome Ranma and Ranma 1/2 Β© the great Takahashi Rumiko who spent way more time on Inu-Yasha than I really think she should have.

Normally I don't like Ranma drawn in styles obviously different from the original (or at least not as much as I would if the same pic were in the original style), but I really do like this one. Very well done.

I know how is these strange sensation. I hate the man and likes the girl. I ever liked more female characters and my beloved pitgailed goddess is a man, I donΒ΄t care, love Ranma 1/2 anime and your story. Ranma-chan is be best "second character" there, when she appears, the world stop. You capture the spirit in your picture. congratulations.

Ranma-chan foreve steals the scene, no? Maybe of a strange personality of him, to be more "cool" when be a girl. DonΒ΄t worry, I am a female Ranma fan lover too.

Oddly, I now consider male Ranma to be a more interesting character. I dunno why, really.

If Ranma were to make a comeback today, this'd make a great style for it!

Awesome take on the character! It totally has that modern anime feel, but still totally still fits. And yea I agree with you, Rumiko spent way too much time on Inu-Yasha.

You know, looking back at it now, it doesn't feel too much like the kind of Ranma I imagine nowadays.

Not enough naivete.

I think I was about ten. It was my first too. And when I finished it, I read fanfiction that introduced me to quite a few others.

Awesome fan art.

Even though there are more action based animes, something about Ranma 1/2 makes it one of my most favorite animes. I love ranma because he is less of shounen/samurai-like hero, and more of the spiderman type hero in the way he fights. Plus, Ranma's female personality is hilarious.

Very cute and very well done.

Ranma 1/2 was the manga that actually got me into the whole "I love manga/anime thing." Nice to see that other people like it as well.

Truly a magnificent portrayal of Ranma nerditude. Seriously, someone dressed up as Kuno?
