I like the design of the head, I assume that backmost plate is attatched to the neck so that when he straightens his head out it doesn't pierce him in the spine.

Well if that plate is attatched at the neck the only problem he'd have to worry about is the one in front of it attatched to the head, it would keep him from bending his head backwards any. Small price to pay for armor protection in a vulnerable place I guess
