Irrespectively. In my head canon, Negaduck and Darkwarrior represent what Drake would have become at two different points in his life if he had responded to his circumstances negatively instead of positively.
Darkwing vs. Negaduck:
The first turning point of Drake's life was in high school, when both he and Elmer Sputterspark had to deal with relentless bullying from jocks because they were both nerdy introverts. They had a choice then; turn the other cheek and help their tormentors when they were in trouble, or be the ones to cause the trouble. In the main universe, Elmer chose to get revenge, and Drake chose to step up and be the hero. In a rare case in which the egotistical Drake did not seek adulation (to be fair, his ego may have been inflated by the praise he received later on as a vigilante), he kept his identity a secret, knowing the bullying would continue as those he just rescued wouldn't realize their victim had had mercy on them.
Negaduck, on the other hand, was probably born of a very similar circumstance, in which he and Elmer made reverse choices to their normalverse counterparts. The Negaverse Drake chose revenge, and Elmer chose to be the one to offer his tormentors mercy. Thus Negaduck and Negavolt were created.
Quiverwing Duck vs. Darkwarrior Duck:
The second turning point of Drake's life only sort of happened in the normalverse, creating an alternate reality. It also happened in what I call the Noirverse, where QD lives. In each case, Drake faces a devastating loss: The disappearance or death (respectively) of his adopted daughter, Gosalyn. Again, Drake faces a choice here. He can either take revenge, or he can carry on his little girl's legacy, honoring her fighting spirit. In one reality, Drake chooses revenge, taking out his loss on literally everyone around him, treating the citizens of St. Canard as an odd mixture of "supervillains" and surrogate children. Thus, Darkwarrior Duck is created. Eventually he is so far gone that even Gosalyn's return can't redeem him. It can only stop him from sinking further still (and that only barely; he still threatens to kill her). He turns instead to basically beating himself up, joining Negaduck in a rampage against the alternate universe Darkwings.
In the other reality, Darkwing takes Gosalyn on as his sidekick, resulting in her being killed in action, leaving him to pick up the pieces of his life. Instead of turning his depression outward as Darkwarrior did, Drake uses the pain to motivate himself to fight in Quiverwing Quack's stead. He takes up archery, and through sheer force of will becomes extremely proficient at it. Everything he does he does for the love of his daughter. Though faced with a parent's most unfair task--outliving his child--Quiverwing Duck chooses not to inflict his pain on others, but rather to use his experience to help others. He grows stronger as a result. So strong, in fact, that he is literally the only version of Darkwing who can beat Darkwarrior in a one-on-one battle.

What's stunning is realizing that all four versions of Drake all had a single origin point, but all four went off in different directions.

Hence the reason Drake is highlighted in the foreground. This is one of the things I love about DWD. It stresses the importance of realizing that we choose our responses; that our circumstances are by no means the only tools that shape us. We can shape ourselves as well. That's why we'll all be held accountable in the end. We can't use "extenuating circumstances" as an excuse for our behavior.

Very interesting collage. I like it! And it loks pretty good for being done mostly with a mouse.
