Description So Deviantart doesn't have quite the right category for this print. This is an engraving carved into something called High Impact Polystyrine or HIP which is an excellent low budged alternative to end grain wood.

I was thinking about blurring the edges of the tree silhouette and thinking about ideas of wind and movement.

Wow, this is gorgeous!!! O,O
Never heard about HIP, is it somehow similar to Linol cutting?

I learned about HIP recently too. It is significantly harder than linoleum. I would recommend it if you would like to try your hand at engraving. It holds a very good line and cuts like butter with a engraving tool. And it is really really affordable.
